Got the Plymouth ready to go but found out that the local track most likely won't be opening this year at all now.. What a bummer that is. Anyone going to be racing this year? Possibly?

The local strip here opened today. Mostly run no prep events which is big around this area right now.

Looks like our tracks should be open in the next month in Michigan. We'll see.

There's plenty of room for social distancing at most tracks, so why not open ?

Maple Grove and Cecil are follow state orders. Looks like both want to get back to business. Maple Grove looks like they cleared the schedule for all of May and early June.

I was hoping to attend MapleGroves Mopar event on Sat July 18th...
NOTE, this WAS their 2020 schedule, prior to CV.

Cedar Falls Motorsports park hasn't announced yet. We hope to still have our Mopar Max event the end of August.

UPDATE 5-2-20

As many of you know Cedar Falls Motorsports Park is located in Black Hawk County, which is one of the 22 counties that has been put on hold until May 15th. It’s a tough pill to swallow, to remain closed while the world passes by, but we must stay vigilant.

We have been working with local and state governments to submit an emergency action plan, with the hopes of possibly an earlier opening date. We appreciate everyone’s patience with this, as we are working very hard to make CFMP a safe place to be for the staff and the racers.

We are currently awaiting for the green light to open, per our guidelines set by management, NHRA and local/state agencies. Please continue to be patient and we will keep everyone updated as the information comes in. If you haven’t heard anything new from us, we unfortunately don’t have anything new to share. Be safe and be healthy; we hope to see everyone very soon!!

I made this thread a sticky and if there is updated information please edit your post. Thanks

Open the damn border so that us northerners can come racing.

So, if the tracks are closed for a year, are we going to get an extra year on the damned seatbelt replacement rule?

South Sound Speedway (WA) and the Silver State Classic (NV) have not cancelled the season, but then again the WA gov'nr just announced yesterday a phased restriction plan than is expected to take us into July. I'm already mentally preparing to stand down until 2021.

:(

What’s expiry date on race fuel? Shutting down racing for a year will likely bite some guys.

That’s great to hear they are starting to open. Was talking with a vintage racer yesterday who is itching to hit those events anywhere in the US that he can. I’ve lost my ability to race for a few months as temps in 100’s now in Phoenix.

I am thinking that exact thing since I already bought a new belt.

The new local track is still under construction but planning to open late summer. It is advertising NHRA approved and outside of Odessa MO.

I’m hoping mid Michigan Motorplex is open by June. Can’t wait to try the new improvements.

As long as its in metal can your good. I buy mine by 55 gallon drum. This year I have 34 gallons left from last year. I do it every year. Your seat belts will rot and need replacement after they sit for 2 years.

As long as it’s in a metal sealed container, I would think it’s good for at least a year.
