Hi all,

I have a few questions about factory broadcast sheets in the 1st generation '66-67 Chargers. If anyone can help me out and answer these questions it will be much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

First question, where are the typical places to find them?

Second question, are '66 broadcast sheets smaller than 67's?

Last and final question, did Chrysler ever fold the sheets in half?

The reason I ask these is because I was vacuuming the Charger today, I was just curious and looked under the front passenger seat. There I saw a little folded piece of paper under the springs. Could this possibly be the sheet? I will post pictures tomorrow.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

It's possible that it could be a build sheet, but usually when I have found a build sheet under a front seat, it has been the drivers side and not folded. Not necessarily first generation Chargers, but 66-67's, under rear carpet, hanging behind the hardbacks on the front bucket seats, folded and taped on the top of the glove box. In the rear seat springs would probably be out for the Chargers.

I have a 1966 Charger and found two build sheets. One was under the passenger rear seat cushion and the other was under the drivers side rear seat cushion. Both were under the springs and neither was folded.

Say, by the way.... as we're on this subject:
Does Chrysler or someone else have these build sheet records that one may purchase for our vin.
I've always wanted to have the data for my 67.

Mine were under the rear seat between the springs and the burlap.

On my 66 Satellite, St Louis plant found one rear seat under seat springs and other folded into a 3"square under carpet driver's side.

The Historical Society can send you a copy of the IBM card, I got mine (66 Coronet 500). It was a bit blurry and I was told that this was the best pic they could get of it. They were very helpful and the service is free. You need to send pitchers of the fender tag, VIN plate, Title, registration, and your pretty face on your licence. 68,69's were all lost in a fire...I'm told. You should get what you can, while you can....can't see this lasting forever.

Sadly, there was no build sheet available.

There is a "Charger Registry" that might be of some help

Recovered the seats on my '66 never found anything.

Hi everyone,

Here are some pictures of what I found, the more I look at it I do not think it is the broadcast sheet. I might be getting my hopes up. The first 2 pictures are looking under the seat from the front. The last 2 pictures are looking under the seat from the back.

Please let me know what you all think, thanks for all the information too everyone, I really appreciate it. I may look into the historical society.....

Sorry. Not a broadcast sheet.

I figured it wasn't, but I wasn't sure. I knew I got my hopes up. :BangHead:. If it's not a broadcast sheet then what the hell is it then, besides a head scratcher now. Damn it's buggin me. :(. Anyone got any other ideas? It has to be something from the factory if it's in the springs right.

I found a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup wrapper under my carpet -- along with a handful of chrome trim screws. So I can picture a worker on the factory line throwing a handful of trim screws on the floor to keep them handy while he's eating his snack of Peanut Butter Cups. I had a friend back in the mid / late 70's -- he had a 1970 Challenger 440 six pack. He had a rattle somewhere on the passenger side in the back seat. He also complained that that window wouldn't roll down all the way. We took the panel off and found a whiskey bottle below the window regulator. Take out that piece of paper under the seat and see what it is. Maybe it's a note telling us who assassinated Kennedy.

That is really really interesting, guess someone was drinkin' on the job if there was a whiskey bottle below the window regulator. Its amazing what you can find in a car when you take it apart

That's the plan but not right away, engine work first. Who assassinated Kennedy:lol:. Don't we know that already?

My 67 had 3 build sheets in it. I found one under the driver seat, one behind the glove box under the dash and an almost pristine one behind the passenger seat back that I removed when I recovered the two front seats.
I have heard of other places, above the headliner and under carpets.
*Another note, I have a friend who has a 68 - 4 door Coronet who found a crushed coffee cup from the (assuming) Chrysler break room since it had the logo on it.
As far as size, they were the same and only difference being the series #/year at the side of the sheet.

Here's a pic --- under the back seats -- one each on both sides.
