Naming the car.....Who has done this?

Parents 1964 Dodge 880. Their 1st new car. sister’s 1st hand me down.

“Dudley Dodge”

Your comment made me remember my 72 /6 Demon I had back just out of high school, I called it "The Deadly Dodge Dart Duster Demon Duelly Deluxe"...had it's name on the dash made from a vintage label maker...so that made it official.

"Fred" just doesn't have a ring to it - I'll pick "Gertrude"!
Yeah, as much as I hate to admit it, she's probably gonna get her way - but I might have to insist on
shortening it to "Gerty".
Wait, come to think of it, that name sounds like a Model T name to me.... :)

a few goldies out there, but this is ours!

"Gerty" works - it doesn't have a Model T ring to me, but then again, these cars ARE 50+ years old! Plus, if you name it Gerty you get bonus points from the wife. Happy wife, happy life!!! :D

My wife named my 75 Dodge van the PERV van. I said I like it,PERV stands for Pete's Excellent Recreational Vehicle! Lol

*sigh* I guess...not very manly, though. :)
Sort of works with the "Gerty the GeeTeeEx".

I usually think of a yellowish gold color when I think of Ginger but the name does have me curious.
People associate the word Ginger with redhead women.
There was Ginger on the TV show Gilligan's Island.
She was a beauty but a bit high maintenance.
Sounds sort of familiar...

Is ginger red? No. But then again, 'redheads' aren't red either...not stop sign red unless it's out of a bottle.
This is ginger.

First vehicle that I named was a 79 D300 Club Cab. It was pretty well wore out when I got it so I named it Edna as it was kind of whipped and beat. Right now I have a red 97 Dodge diesel and a 96 red Dakota. The ex used to call the diesel Big Red. Never did care for that and never did call it that but after I got the Dakota, I call the diesel Red 1 and the Dakota Red 2.
