Rant about new Cooper Cobras

The car has been sitting there for about 4 years and they may have been on there for about a year and a half before. So I'm saying 6 at the most.
Wow, I have never heard of that happening before. I just put a set of 5 year old BFG's on my Bee that I just finished restoring. You are making me kind of nervous about that now.

My Coopers have been on since 2012.

This is the second time I've had to change the 14" fronts but it's my fault this time.

The 15" rears have been fine.

Driven fairly regularly on Fridays and Saturdays.

Not really concerned, better than other countries. But not what my local hometown tire guy said. I checked my other vehicles with Coopers, all USA made.
Got those blue letter tires on my car too. The cobras that I took off were around eight years old. I told the store manager to take one of them and mount it on my spare rim, because the Goodyear was over twenty years old. He came back to tell me that they don't mount tires that were over five years old.

Bring it by my shop and I'll mount it for ya.

(as long as they didn't tear up the bead)

Appreciate it, but that was a couple months ago and I didn't take the old tires with me. I looked at my wheels and all 4 had weights on inside only and looked to be all about the same size (2 ounces), the car drives fine.

Wow. 5 years and wouldn’t mount it for a spare! I’ll just keep the 20 year old Goodyear Eagle GT spare then.

Yep, not many places, around here anyway, would want to do it. One word. Liability. Part of the reason why insurance rates, especially in south Florida are so high. Everybody wants to sue.
I checked my Eagle and there's no air in it,so...
