70 CHARGERS LETS SEE THEM

A friend sent me this. I guess it was on facebook. Check out the rot in the roof, package tray, leading edge of the hood & valve cover. Not to mention the trunk floor hanging out of it. Sadly, this car is just too far gone & is only good for parts. Too bad because it mut have been a nice car back in the day.

Look at that valve cover. I never seen rust like that before. Wow.

The above R/T SE's build date ''A14, Oct.14,1969 is one day before mine ''A15'', Oct.15, 1969.
I know that car, saw the video when it first aired; I'm subscribed to the guy, his YouTube channel name is JunkerUp... I know, what a shame.. Seeing that charger like that brought tears on.. The bottom of the rear RH quarter was torn off just loading it onto the truck (the parking light is there when it's on the ground and gone later...) It made great yard art R.I.P. ... But I just wanted to say; Cool that you have a 69made 1970 Charger. My car was made just a few days before your and the R/T SE on the 10th of October, here's my fender tag (no real options haha):

Its been sitting for a long time, and has been panned bad... Originally EF8 dark green metallic 383 (which I believe to still be the same engine, haven't got to the casting numbers yet..) 4 speed, which has since been replaced with an auto. ... Was nice to see your comment! Thumbs Up!

Did they use both numbers and letters for the build dates? My Charger has a 818 for August 18th 1969 but some have letters?? Why is that?

The letters are just used for Post-year produced cars... Taking your 69, for example; if your car had been made in late 1968 (a 1969 waiting to be sold at the first day of 1969) it'd have a letter to signify the month. Cars that were produced on the assembly lines from the first day of January on have 1-01 etc.

Those of you that come across any of these cars, in any shape are lucky or work extremely hard at it. You can’t find anything, any make or model sitting around here that’s older than 30 years old. For miles and miles.

8 (AUGUST 1969) 01-31
9 (SEPTEMBER 1969) 01-30
A (OCTOBER 1969) 01-31
B (NOVEMBER 1969) 01-30
C (DECEMBER 1969) 01-31
1 (JANUARY 1970) 01-31
2 (FEBUARY 1970) 01-28
3 (MARCH 1970) 01-31
4 (APRIL 1970) 01-30
5 (MAY 1970) 01-31
6 (JUNE 1970) 01-30
7 (JULY 1970) 01-10
Well I did Quote #87 and 88, but they did not show up here.

Special Edition, 383, two carter 4 barrels, Winters Transmission's built 727, 3.91:1, solid motor mounts, Extra Heavy Duty Rallye springs, Monroe 60/40, 50/50, 40/60 front shocks for a fast lift with a slow rebound, Lakewood traction bars, F60x15's on the front and L60x15's on the rear.
If you notice that odd ball radio antennae, the original was taken out with a baseball bat, along with the right side wiper and wind shield. Some times it got rough and tough in the old days.:elmer:

My car is a 1970 but from what I see a very early build date. Production of the 1970 chargers began August 1st 1969 and my car has a build date of august 18th. Was just confused about the letter in some of the date codes. Dual fours chart makes sense but they only used the letters for 3 months and then went back to numbers?

Hey chargervert I love that white v code charger of yours. Looks just like my dads old 70 R/T.

I believe that my 70 Charger R/T V code was built on the last day of Charger production for the 1970 model year. July 10th 1970.it may be the last 70 V code Charger R/T built.

To me it looks like they did not want to use a two digit number for the 10th, 11th and 12th month. On the fender tag it has space for 23 numbers/letters on each line.
