I have this one the tach works but the red line needle doesn't adjust. It has the square end on the cable. Pm if interested.

Technically, its not a redline needle, its a tattletale. It records peak rpm. The button on the front probably resets it. The reset buttons on mine are on the back.
When rpm excedes 5000, the tach needle picks up the red needle, and leaves it at max rpm. So if you shift at 7000, and go thru the lights at 6500, the tattletale will sit at 7000 rpm.

Yeah, redline needles can be set anywhere, they mean nothing. If your mechanical tach tattletale is sitting at 8200, I'M IMPRESSED!

the plan is gassers , not sure how many i'll need . but i hope i've got it covered . but as usz i'll need more stuff , lol .

oh ya hemi-itis , want to sell me yours ? i need more stuff ! pm me if you want .

I gotta question, @POMONAMISSEL.:thumbsup:Who the f#<k needs a twelve grand mechanical tach?!? LOL ( Wouldn't that be fun in a hemi hotrod with the tattletale at about 9400?):p

how about this one for cycles or indy car , and there was a super modified roundy rounder with a little inch chevy that would turn 14k and run away from the 10k motors .

12k , what about 16k , these tachs are the best in the race world . so don't think street rpm . think racer rpms . and the sky is the limit in some cases . and jones made tacks for a number of companies . as you can see . even sanger that them build custom tachs for there boats , and you see the moon eyes one .

yes , well when i started collecting this old race stuff , i had no clue either . little story on american racing equipment rims and look a likes , i started collecting those in the late 70's . there were like a dozen manufactures of 5 spoke look a likes rims . i had stacks of them , all the different ones , this off set , other size , this spoke . it was crazy at first . then it all fell into play . so anyway . my thoughts were on retirement and building gassers and vintage hot cars from the 60's . stock has never been my forta' you could sa' . lol . crazy as always outhere .

i can wait to start the build on my 48 austin a40 gasser , 417 donova wet block 56 354 h heads 4.50 stroke billet crower crank old school 8 71 , woohoo this will be fun kind of like jr thompsons car . but it will have american racing vintage magnesiums on all four corners as you can see i have plenty for my projects . the first pic is a 301 55 chrysler poly block , w/55 chrysler hemi heads n 6-71 twin hillborn pots atop , thats another austin a40 project , can't help my self i'm sick , i know , lol . but it keeps me broke , so i can't afford drugs or booze , lol .
