Did a 1970 Dana 60 have the 3 digit Assembly line part code painted Yellow on it or just the axle tube decal??

Quoting from Galen Govier's Part & Casting Numbers White Book dated February 1999......

" The 3 Digit axle build code's in this book are found on 1969-1974 Lynch Road Plant Fender Tag! The build code numbers can be found in yellow, on the left [drivers side] axle tube on all Chrysler built axles [Exc: 9.75"] . The 9 3/4" DANA 60 axle is identified with a strap of white tape, on the left tube and the Assembly Part Number stamped in red ink. Found on 1969 and newer DANA 60 Axles! "

very informative... would you have any specific info on 67 dana's.?... paint markings and stuff like that... thanks ..rich

I would like to know about 1967 Dana 60 markings as well, I have a couple of them and one just went in my car. I would like to detail it up.

Looking at Galen's book again, I thought I'd try sharing a pic from the book on the notes he made re the Dana and other axles. PM me if you can't read it here and I'll be happy to email you this photo.
