Mine was Foghat's Fool for the City. Won it on the local radio station and had to get my mom to bring me to pick it up. I was 13 I think. Still have it.

Black Sabbath Paranoid! Bought it used for $1.50, also still have it! 440'

Black Sabbath.. Master of Reality...i think i was 10yrs old... im still playing it, of course its a CD... Sabbath all day everyday !!!!

I bought Rock & Roll Over from KISS (on vinyl) at a yard sale when I was twelve... for a buck. But first new album (cassette) was RUSH - Moving Pictures. Those Canadian boys are still my absolute favorite!

Led Zeppelin II. Bought it new a week after it came out...

The first 8-track I bought was Cheech and Chongs Up in Smoke. I remember listening to it quietly in my room cracking up!

This is embarrassing, mine was Beach Boys - Suffer Girl 8 track. I also joined the Columbia House tape club for $1 and got 12 tapes but had to buy 12 more at club prices. What a mistake.

Guns n Rose's, Appetite for Destruction on cassette, which I bought from saving up my lunch money in grade school. Played the hell out of that thing, and is the only album I've ever listened to where I like every song on it...

Funny how you can remember something like that.
This Barry McGuire album, back in 1965.
I was 12.
Still in my collection of vinyl.

I think just about everybody did that Columbia House thing, back in the day.
Me too.
Was the popular thing to do.

First album was a gift from a cousin, Eric Burdon & the Animals The Twain Shall Meet

First Album I bought 1970 while living in Turkey Black Sabbath's Paranoid.. Great album strangely one of my favorite things back then was cranking up the Air Raid Sirens at the start of War Pigs.... The Air Base Alert siren was exactly the same so every time I played it pop's would wake up from napping on the couch & have his boots halfway on before he realized it was my music not his job that woke him up.....

Peter frampton, do you feel like we do, on my j c penney catalog special, home 8 track and stereo system.

Boston, their first record in 1977 when I was 10. I wish the first record I bought was Black Sabbath Paranoid. That came later when I was 13 or 14, which was the first time I heard the song Paranoid on the radio. Paranoid is a great record. I can still sit down and listen to it today.
The record that blew me away back then had to be Let There Be Rock. I joined one of those record clubs to get a bunch of cheap records. One day I came home from school on a cloudy rainy March day and there was a record on the porch. I opened it and went to my room to play it. I remember thinking "this sounds awful, but man, I like it." By sounding "awful" I meant the gritty, raw sound of the recording. That record did not sound like anything I'd ever heard before. The best Rock-n-Roll guitar sound ever.

I think it was either Stone Temple Pilots or Jane’s Addiction. Either one were albums I listened to over and over again on road trips. Also, grew up in Tom Petty country and, had a few of his cassettes.

Love the Stone Temple Pilots. Lived in San Diego when they were coming on the scene.
