Next on the list is removing the AC/heater box. I have been over the SM and it doesn't give a whole lot of clear instructions. So, time to stand on he shoulders of those who have gone before.

Any tips, tricks or (especially) cautions in removing the box? Any pics of your process would be greatly appreciated.

I found it easier to pull the console and passenger seat, yank the bolts and hoses from under the hood and roll it out from under the dash.

Do the heater core while your at it...ain't no sense go'n back there again.

It think MTbase is correct. I took mine out with the dash removed so I can't speak to your exact situation. There are, I believe, 4 nuts on the firewall. Remove those nuts, hoses and wire connectors under the hood. I removed my heater fan first by removing the 3 small hex screws which made removing the box easier. Disconnect all the vent tubes under the dash and it should drop out. I apologize if I'm giving elementary info, but I had the same issue with the FSM. So I just started removing things, and keeping track. I replaced the heater core and AC evap - a nightmare taking the box apart with all the screwy levers and vac pods - and cleaned and re-sealed everything while it was apart. Detroit Muscle Tech has a seal kit. Also, there are no real calibration instructions in the FSM for the levers and vac pods. I just took photos and tried to put them back as they were. I have photos before disassembly if that will help.

I'd love to see some pictures. I know mine has leaves stuck in it from years of sitting. Don't know how hard it would be to clean it out.

I did not get any photos as of the present. The 67 FSM is terrible with the details of the removal. I am still waiting to attach the project because I have an unheated garage and no room to maneuver inside. Might have to wait until better weather. There are some better instructions on the 66 Charger and 426 Hemi Service Manual Supplement.http://www.retrorarities.com/ChargerInfo.htm
