Four of the Worst "Special Edition" Cars?

I think the 55 Dodge was neat. The rest I could see as the worst.

the feather duster was ahead of its time....doesnt belong on that list at all imo.
neither does that 55 dodge, that was very unique indeed.

there are Far worse special edition cars out there...

A friend of mine over here in NZ bought a Levi's Special Edition AMC Gremlin...mostly for parts, as the body was a bit rusty. The interior was pretty cool, and in remarkably good condition. The engine & trans went into a Jeep project he was working on.

Blue Denim seats....nice. :D

I remember those when they were new. Pedaled past an AMC dealer on the way to school in the 70s. Rarely ever a Javelin there, mostly Gremlins and Jeeps.

Levi's edition Jeeps were incredibly functional.

The "Levi's" seats were very, very water resistant.

You could leave the top off in the rain, wipe them off and not get your *** wet.

Easy to wipe off trail flung mud as well.

How about the "custom" model designations?

Most ware far, far, far from it.

Plymouth and gm (and I bet most others) used it for their bottom of the line trim options.

I had a friend growing up whose mom had one, it was kinda cool to look at but if I remeber correctly the seats were kinda itchy feeling.

Remember this one?

thats funny, cause thats one of the cars i had in mind when i replied originally.
the 301 turbo powered transam !

or,the older gm cars like the buick " special " which like yy1 pointed out,
was the Bottom of the line.

301 turbo was not terrible either.

I've contemplated a 318 turbo build several times.

I knew a gal who had that Smoke Pigeon model.
She couldn't give it away. The car, the car!

I guy I worked with bought one of the 301 Firebirds. In about a month he put it into a bridge abutment.
He was lucky to be alive but he was messed up for life.

The Duster was I deed way ahead of its time.
It proved cars didn't need to be tied y to be economical.
It would fit right in today, and still beat today's cars in mpg.

yeah that 75 Buick
& that Bonjovi VW Gulf, were really bad

all the special wild colored Bugatti &/or
Gucci or Neiman Marcus type crap
is way out there too, even some of the Eddie Bower **** from Ford

never liked the lettered up "in your face" versions/editions of cars

even all the variations of the Indy 500 pace cars
looked nice if they didn't have all the stickers/lettering on them

:usflag:

the Levi edition Jeeps & AMC's weren't bad
well except the Pacer, that sucked in every version
I never liked the Gremlin's all that much, until about 20 years ago
now they've kind of grown on me

I had a buddy that had a bad *** 383cid MoPar in a Gremlin,
a fugly mustard colored & what a Fugly POS, but it was a fast POS
it'd run low to mid 11's in the mid-late 80's on street tires
shocked a lot of bystanders & guys beside him

it's all in the eyes of the person buying & driving it

some hated the Rising Phoenix (thunder chicken)
on the hood of the Trans Am's, I didn't mind the ones on the 74-77's
after when they got too big & too over the top, it became goddy (god awful)

There were many Jeeps CJ's/SJ's or Wranglers etc. with special packages,
goddy stripes or goddy bold colored stickers/huge obnoxious graphics
some were really rare options too
some are OK
some I don't care for at all

some of the Z28's had some goddy graphics too,
especially later late 80's early 90's IROC's
& Gen 4's graphics on Trans Am's too
some of the stripes looked great, RS & SS, even Z28
(same with the Chevelle's SS packages)
some didn't, really depends on the year & car, what stripes
I never liked much that had a Special Edition tag
too boldly displayed on it

depends on the car truck etc.
there were some 70's Power Wagons with goddy graphics too
I didn't care much for them then, I sort of like it now
it's more of a nostalgic thing now thou :poke:

mid 70's GTO's after 72, smog turds with decals
mid 70's after 72 & into the mid 80's 442's,
all got goddy graphics/decals too, over the top

there was a lot of people that thought the MoPar's
big ol' billboards, side graphics, hockey stripe, hood treatments etc.
or the huge Plymouth script on the quarters
were all goddy
not me I loved that ****, it was part of the times,
part of what made MoPars special, especially hood treatments
I have to admit, I don't like the huge Plymouth script
on anything, other than a real Superbird, but that's my pet peeve

No ****. Why would you want someone elses name on your car.? Kind of defeats the purpose of owning your own vehicle. Those Bowers sucked. Even working on them.

I actually like the 55 Dodge. The Feather Duster also. The other two? Meh........ They belong on that list.

Might be like wearing a MoPar t shirt?
