Hertz is going bankrupt

I would never buy a used rental car, I know the abuse I’ve put some through. The old Hertz rent a racer are sought after, just have to wait a few decades.

Its Chapter 11 so it means restructuring of debt.
There is so little air travel now nobody rents cars.

Probably come back after the "pandemic"
realigned restructured, less debt, rid of some dead weight etc.

Hertz was/still is a mainstay in Rental cars...

The rental car lot at Phoenix airport is packed with Hundreds of cars. They haven’t moved in months.
Then again the tarmac has parked planes too. Both areas out of room.

Most people are responsible renters. My family have bought multiple former rental cars over the years: 75 Torino, 85 New Yorker, 86 Buick Regal, a 90'2 Pontiac 4-banger something, a 95 Neon, two Taurus's, a 2000's Honda Civic, etc. They can be found with low miles and generally come with a guarantee and a big price reduction off new. All of them over the years have been great cars and lasted many miles with the exception of the '95 Neon, which I blame on Chrysler, not the rental company.
