Hi all, just short question : yesterday seal my Water pump housing and anywhere if I had out of the car I turn the water pump by hand and sound s not really silent , it’s normal sound?
Water pump is a

If it has any abnormal noise coming from it, the bearings are probably shot.
Thank you for you’re estimation , I also wonder about that sound , but not sure because no play in it self, only sound makes me confuse

Well if it was me I'd take it back off and make sure the vanes aren't contacting the internal passages at all. Sometimes with these aftermarket pumps you need to use a thicker gasket. Then I'd dribble some coolant in the back of it to lubricate it, and spin it while listening for any strange noise. Easier to check and/or replace now, than later! For what it's worth I'm not real impressed with Flowkooler. One of the more expensive pumps out there, and while it did lower my running temps a bit, it started dripping intermittently out the weep hole after 6 months on the car..

Intermittent squeak...........

Flowkooler and be done!

Zack,do you have pictures of the vanes on the FLO? I always used the aluminum MOPAR A/C pump. Keeps my brick cool.

This is from their website...maybe mine leaks because it got one of those aluminum shavings in it?:D

Based on some good results by others I've talked to, I'm trying the 'Tuff-Stuff' brand pump for the 505. 'Supposed' to work very well, made in Cleveland USA, and...................$62 from Summit, okay I'm in!
(It's iron instead of aluminum, but the difference is very slight on just the pump)

IMO....I have used Flokooler pumps for years with great success eithout any difficulties...it provides high fluid velocities (~20 ft/sec) and high GPM (~7-8 GPM) rates which yield satisfactory heat transfer characteristics with my #2998956 radiator.
However, based on this outstanding testimonial in #10's posting ... "Based on some good results by others I've talked to, I'm trying the 'Tuff-Stuff' brand pump for the 505. 'Supposed' to work very well, made in Cleveland USA," ..... unspecified and undocumented "good results" by nameless persons and conditions by a product manufactured in Cleveland (presumably Ohio) without any results..... If the pump works as expected, why not show results....."Inquiring minds want to know"....

Well yeah if people I trust have good results with something I've never personally used, I may feel comfortable shelling out to try something new. This isn't the same as 'maybe well sorta' 3rd-hand heresay information....and I did at least call and talk to tuff-stuff to get some information directly from the source...you need the results, you research it! You needing to be convinced of something is not my problem!

Isn't accepting a premise, based on someone else's opinion, risky? Trust is an important consideration but its not the only consideration. Performance (of just about anything automotive) based on results, in addition to cost and perhaps, a guarantee of results or recourse if it doesn't. I'll perform my own do dilligance of a product or device AFTER listening to opinions and preferences of others.

So when “we” say that we’ve heard good results from others and post that, it’s not good enough for ya? But then you say “I’ll perform my own due diligence of a product or device AFTER listening to opinions and preferences of others”. Gotta say, that is word of mouth that got ya to buy said product or device. Just saying, don’t get on others when you’ve just said you do the SAME EXACT THING!!

I still put em back , but order also a new one , but not very sure it’s sounds wrong ..... I will see how the new one sounds if arrived
