So I've had this idea bouncing around in my head and I'm curious how realistic it is. I got a 73 Charger and I love it. One thing that always bothered me is that it has 4 headlights, but the inner are only high beam. I fee it'd look better if all 4 lit up low beam and high

My thinking is, I should swap some modern challenger headlights. Even better, with the Hellcat versions, I can have "ram air" from the inner lights.

Basically I just want all 4 lights to work for low ad high beam, plus newer headlights have better lighting so I can see more.

Is this even a possibility? Would the wiring for it be absolutely insane? What am I trying to get myself into??

Thanks!

There actually is a wiring kit that is used on GM pickups with four headlights. Look it up online as it shows how to DIY. Nothing wrong with low-beams staying on with high beams. I've done this conversion on 5 vehicles so far. Just remember that when four lights are lit there's a bit of current draw so wire accordingly by uping the wire gauge by 1 larger size. I just completed the final changeover from incandesant bulbs to LED's front to back inside and out and I believe if I left the lights on the battery wouldn't go dead for five days - the draw is next to nothing.
GM conversion headlight kit $34.95 at Summit Racing instructions included and made by Painless Performance. Don't come much better than that.

I actually have considered this as well for my car. I have not been able to find a New Challenger at the yard to get the measurements but after looking at the buckets online it appears there is no center groove between the lights for the Grille split the older cars require. I am sure with massaging they could be made to work but it wont be a simple bolt in.

Old thread, I know..
But has anyone tried this? I have a set of Challenger headlights lying around and considered fitting them on my -68 Charger.
The advantage would be better light of course but also a more menacing look compared to the "surprised" look of the old lights if you know what I mean?

.....The light output is so much more with this also.....

Yeah annoying AF when on coming cars' ultra bright lights are glaring in your eyes where you can't even see the road. I hold the steering wheel straight and hope for the best.

They need to regulate the brightness of these overkill headlights. smh

Although I've seen a few new cars that seemed too bright, the majority of the problem comes from people who stuff aftermarket LED or HID kits into standard halogen housings. The focus isn't right and glare results. It isn't even legal in my province but stores carry the kits anyway.
