Finally got my 1968 Sport Satellite painted

I logged in just to say the car looks gorgeous ! Love the color and the Keystones !! Fabulous !

Just out of interest...how clean was the car when you got it back? I had my hood and fender tops painted late last week, got the car back yesterday. Took an hour to clean the dust from the interior and I'm about to finish cleaning the engine bay which looked even worse. I should have popped the hood before I left the painters to check, I assumed he would have covered the engine, maybe that's asking too much nowadays.
Love the car BTW!
Pretty good, he was cleaning it up when I went to get it. I told him I would finish cleaning the wheels and tires.. I made a list of what I wanted done when I left it there. Specifically , keep the interior clean, cover the vinyl top, cover the engine, cover the wheels ... The wheels didn't get covered all the time, but at least didn't have overspray on them . Why is it, painters don't like to paint the bottom of the rocker panels? I will do them a little better myself...............................MO

Thanks, I should have been more specific.. what brand/type of paint.
I wanted to buy paint and materials locally, so I could get more if needed, which I did need more color. Good thing because the paint mixer tech messed up the formula , and they had to stand the cost of correcting it. Which they did, no problem...
It is Martin Seynor from NAPA They were the only ones to come up with the formula. Base Coat - Clear coat, their top of the line. Don't remember the top of the line name right now............................MO

QQ1 is an amazing color. Nice choice. Here is another:

The QQ1 color as I have seen has that tinge of green to it. Very nice color.

Glad you like it. I keep the thought in mind that I would like to get up your way . Gas is cheap and now I have no where to go ! Any place up there that is open for lunch? .............................MO

Things are getting opened up slowly, PJs drive Inn has carry out and seating outside, Mexican resturant up town has limited inside seating and carry out, same with the bar.
We did have a cruise night tonight for { Relay for life } and the local food bank. Prob 35 /40 classics and several late models most all were scooping the loop just like the old days lol. every now and then 4 or 5 cars would stop in a lot and BS for awhile then start driving again.

I have heard that its on again next Sat. in Adair , Guthrie Center , Panora , and Stuart. Cant confirm it I am not part of face book. If you are check for june 6th Guthrie Co. relay for life cruise.
Talk to you later, Glad you got the 68 done, I really like that color.

Very, Nice. I don't put Show jobs on my cars anymore. Cuz then I don't want to drive them. I just had my Challenger done locally. I told him nice, But not perfect. I was amazed at how it turned out. Congrats to you. Enjoy.

Thank You. I'm on the same page as you. A trophy is nice , but I'm not one to expect it. I go to a show to meet people and talk about our cars. If you drive them, that rock chip is going to come sooner or later... There are so many variables to a paint job. The amount of body work and prep makes a big difference in the cost.................................MO

It's nice and everyone can live with a few little flaws on a driver. You got a deal if he was 50% less than others and the big thing is you are happy.
Jerry, I just now realized I have done business with you before! The anodizing is very close to looking like the alum polished ...Really pleased, thanks a lot.....MO

In 1967 881 was one year only blue. Trivia
IIRC when I first saw the new 1967 GTX in mag ads, I think they probably were that color, with wide black stripes running front to back... Oh how bad I wanted that car !!.........................MO

Great color; I'd like you to post a photo of it looking a bit darker like you mentioned, if possible. Great looking car!
