Header back exhaust

Y'all are making me jealous with those pretty exhaust systems.
Yes, the 3" with Flowmaster wannabe mufflers that mine has on it are obnoxiously loud at times
for sure, especially at highway speeds - the drone is almost enough for me to want to wear
earplugs.
Not kidding.
I just finished installing a TTi 2 1/2" H-pipe exhaust in my Coronet. Good stuff you really can't go wrong with it. Comes with Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers. I didn't spring for the tips. Was around $700-something.

How do you like the ultra flo sound?. I bought the magnum mufflers from accurate. Very quiet at first, almost to muffled. Couple thousand miles on them now really sound nice. Straight through with packing.

I was wrong, these are actually Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers, 17797 as mentioned above, my apologies. I think I'm just used to saying "Ultra Flo" when I say "Dynomax". The marketing creeps into your brain whether you want it to or not.

I got them from a friend who had the same exact TTi system in his Hemi Coronet but he switched the mufflers for a more factory-looking part.

Either way, my car is not running right now so it's not making any noise. Working on a bunch of other things but will report back when I can!

Put some resonators in the back, you will be surprised how much effect they have

These are from Vibrant, they are 2,5", Summit has them.

2 1/2" ?
Won't do much good on my 3"....
No, my answer is to ditch the 3" PITA exhaust, which I'll do one day when I can afford it.

I use the 2.5 also on the 3" system, out back gasses are cooled enough so its not a restriction,
and it tones down the sound even more.
We see no power loss on the dyno or rolling road .

If you don't mind a little work I've always preferred to build my own. I bought the stainless X pipe kit from Pypes, a few pieces of pipes and a few U bends and went to town.

It is pretty easy to make you're own X-pipe. Just saw the heels off two 90* and weld them up.

No worries at all on power loss for sure - but when I throw money on my exhaust sometime down
the road, it will be to replace the whole she-bang, not just cobble something up on it.
The 3" is a pain in the royal *** in a lot of places under the car.

Yes it is but their Universal kit is pretty inexpensive too.

I have been looking at the Dr. Gas stuff, seems interesting in their designs. I need to match up some exhaust, I have 3.5" collectors and am planning on a 3" system with some type of resonator...just not sure where to start because I have the Super Comp headers and dont know what would match up to the headers. I am still undecided on whether to do an H pipe or X pipe. Both work and I really want to eliminate the drone. Maybe some boom tube tips and a resonator?

Both TTI and Accurate are top notch exhaust systems, as is Gardner. They tend to be higher priced but you do get what you pay for. Flowmaster makes a stainless system with an H-Pipe, but it comes with Super44 mufflers which are loud. It goes for $730. MagnaFlow has a very nice X-Pipe system, which comes with their 14" mufflers and sell for $811. Pypes sells an X-Pipe stainless system without mufflers for $430. You can use whatever offset/offset muffler you choose, or you can buy that system with 18" RacePro mufflers for $575. That is a quiet straight-thru muffler. https://classicmusclecarexhaust.com/c/quick-search/mopar/b-body

Just wanted to update this thread and post the exhaust sound. Ignore the guy talking in the background, that's my goofy neighbor, he was more excited than I was to hear the car running.
