I'm in need of new seat covers for my '64 Polara sedan. The original covers have the embossed Dodge logos in the seatbacks. Legendary makes the correct front covers (split bench), but they do not make a rear set cover for a sedan (only hardtop and convertible). I am guessing the bottom cushion is different on 2-doors to allow easier access to the back seat. They have not replied if they will sell me the matching vinyl so I can get a cover for the seat bottom made locally. Are there any other options? SMS has vinyl, but not an exact color match to the Legendary embossed covers. Thanks

SMS has their sale this week til 5/15, 19% off. I've been calling in, but no answer yet. They do make covers, if you send in old. Be advised, it will take time...

Thanks, Yes I've ordered from them before, last time I think it was over 6 mos for door panels for another car. They were top quality though. When I checked with them on this car last year, they didn't do the embossed logos, but perhaps that has changed also.

I just had a phone conversation with SMS today and I asked about the embossed Dodge emblems that are supposed to be in my convertible [non Polara 500 model] upholstery. The front bench seat and the rear seat came with these emblems [four total] from the factory. SMS told me that they do them, and that matches what they put in their price list/color sample letter that they sent me a few weeks back.

I followed up today by emailing them a photo of the interior I'm looking for, just to make sure we're both on the same page since this interior stuff is so pricey. We'll see.....

Lower trim pics for Steve

Hi Steve, is yours a 2-door or 4-door? I emailed Legendary a few weeks back, and since they don't do the 4-door covers they told me to give SMS a try. I hesitated to call them just because I know it will likely take them quite a long time, and wanted to see if there are any other options. Thanks

Hello Hitparader - I have the 2 door convertible model.

Try SMS and see what they say. If they can help you and have original material for your car, you'll need to send in to them your original stainless steel trim off the [inner] door panels. They also need the metal top pieces off your door panels where the window felts attach.

I sent them this pic of a stock looking 64 Polara convertible [non 500] interior and they said they could provide it.....

While we are on the subject, can I just point out how absolutely gouged we get on stuff like seat covers? Furd and GM front bench covers are often in the $200 range.

It's not just stuff like that... it's everything. My new Wife wants a 67-68 mustang... been kinda looking at prices... a full interior kit including everything for the interior.... seat covers, carpet, sound deadener, door panels, windlace, arm rests, screws, dash pad, etc.... Under the cost of my seat covers for my 64 Polara....

Seems like with some mopars, especially older ones, you need to pay preemee prices. Legendary did my Plymouth interior and door panels about 25 years ago and recall it was north of 600 bucks back then. Now with sun fading as it's a vert, I could do with a re-do. I have had some work done with a local upholstery shop and he has done complete interiors, does great work. Thinking drop the vinyl and go with leather - well - until I get a quote on it anyway.

You can buy the fabric/vinyl by the yard if you only need a few panels replaced.
