How many engines and transmissions do you have stashed away ?

I've been trying to reorganize my shop and parts shed.
I counted something like 12-15 Saginaw power steering pumps. Maybe another 8-10 Federal pumps too.
W T F ???
Something like 10 alternators, several starters, 7 or 8 power steering boxes too.

I was sitting on a pair of 390 AMC engines, and (3) 401s, (3) T10 4 speeds, and some related parts ......... put them on cl and someone took everything the next day for 7500......... and just like that, I was out of the AMC trap

My brother (in law) always immediately sells anything he doesn't currently need.

...then almost without fail asks me if I have one of what he sold the past year.

I've got a shelf full of alternators, a shelf full of starters and a shelf full of steering pumps.....

Nothing beats walking over and grabbing what you need off your own shelf if the need arises instead of paying for a chinese reman unit plus shipping.

I always look for a AMC to restore as I have never done one. But there not many out there. I wanted a 66 or 67 Rogue 290 4 speed. They resembled a small version of the early square body nova.

2 Javelins on my local cl last month.

late 60's one was definitely a project.

early 70's one was kinda nice and 6K IIRC

I only have one engine laying around, actually it's on a dolly. 1955 Chrysler 331 Hemi. It started life as polyhead 331.

wow - I have space send me some 440's and a Dana - I'll trade for left over Chevelle stuff LOL , or most likely have to pay .

I'm cleaning up my backyard shop and trying to eliminate some clutter.
In among the tools and parts are several engines.
2 440s.
2 360s.
1 383.
1 340.
1 318....
Transmissions?
4 BB 727s, maybe 5.
1 SB 727.
1 904.
I seem to keep finding 8 3/4" 3rd members too. I counted 9.
It is tempting to sell off some but what if I need them some day ???
Sold two of my 440s, so now have eight, ten .maybe eleven cranks, enough heads to do at least twelve engines, valves, rockers, pushrods and a ton of small parts. Dave

Stashed, 1966 383 complete on stand, 1976 400 down at the shop, 727s for each, extra steel crank , and couple pair of iron heads. plus small parts , ps pumps , rads , alternators , ect.

3 440's complete 1 cast crank 2 steel
3 383's 2 without heads 1 complete
1 273 complete
4 C 440 blocks w 915 heads for each
3 other 440 blocks w/ various heads for each
3 727's 2 fresh 1 unknown condition
1 65 cable shift 727 BB unknown condition
3 23 spline 4 speeds
1 18 spline 4 speed
3-4 Various 8 3/4 pigs
All of the above may or may not be correct, but it's what I remember right now. Anything else will be a plus.
Any of those C 440s you got HPs?

All of them. 2 sets of heads will have to be made to large valve, but I like to do some port work and go with 214/181 valves anyway.
Man it took me forever to track down one and you have three! Let me know if you are ever thinking of letting one go. Looking for a date before 9-8. Mine Block now is a month after my build date.
