I recently bought the car so i don't have historic knowledge of this issue.

I have a water leak at the outside corner of each side of the windshield. The leak is between the gasket and the A pillar base - not the gasket and the windshield.

When I pour water in the area where I am pointing, the water flows uninterrupted into the cabin just to the left of the parking brake. The same volume of water that is poured into the base of the windshield comes into the cabin immediately and doesn't get redirected anywhere. Same situation on both driver and passenger side.

I am reluctant to remove the windshield trim just to get a better view underneath the windshield gasket because I think the trim is held on with adhesive rather than clips.

Laying on the floorboard looking up inside the dash, I cannot see the leak or any daylight.

Could it be that the flange (sill) the windshield sits in is rusted out and causing the leak? Is this area supposed to drain to cowl and then the exterior of the car? Anybody have a photo of what's inside the cowl and how it drains?

The wiper pivots do not appear to be leaking or the cause.

Thanks for any help, I'm stumped.

Whom ever installed the windshield didn't seal the gasket to the pinch weld, or if it's OE may have rotted out under the rubber. This was my top cowl upon car tear down.

Yep Gotta bite the bullit and do the work or stay away from water! Just that simple

I had a similar situation with a 70 Coronet. It was not the windshield in my case. It was the area between the side of the cowl and the top edge of the door just below where you're pointing at in your photo. I'm not saying that that is where your leak is coming from, but it might be worth taking a look at.

Dadsbee hit it on the head, that's the first place to look IMO
