Hello Everyone, I have two Chrysler 4040001 electronic search tune radios. One is a 1978, the other is a 1979. Other than slight differences in the external plug-ins these appear identical. When power is applied one is totally dead, the other will light up all the led segments but nothing else, that's it. Of course the faceplates will light up completely when power is applied thru the usual orange colored wire(s). I bought the correct service manual in hopes that maybe I had a shot a fixing something minor. Way over my head here. Can anyone recommend a radio repair shop that would fix even one of these? Thanks!

I worked on these back in the day. They are not too complex. Biggest problem is the amplifier is a custom IC and I'm sure they are no longer available. These radios ate amplifier ICs.
The last of the Chrysler Huntsville Alabama designed and manufactured radios.
You can PM me we can discuss.

Hello to all. The following update to this thread was a long time in coming... After getting the front seat done ( see my other thread about " Any auto upholsterers in Iowa?") It's time to give credit where credit is due here in this threads topic. Member Billccm pulled off a miracle and got the rare and temperamental radio working. Here is a pic of it:
