Tire Blowout Wrecked my Fender... Help!

I remember back in the day. As dumb bunny teens with no money we drove on old tires all the time. To my recollection nothing ever happened. I guess we were just lucky back then. These days I wouldn’t go past 8-9 years at the most. And knowing your date codes is important easy to check.

Old tires will do it every time. If you are going to drive on the old stuff anyway ??? don't go over 45. Bias ply tires wear longer than radials ? Somebody has a poor memory or just heard that from somebody. Bias ply tires were lucky to go 20k if you did everything right with maintenance. I sold 1000's of them back in the 70's. Was good for my business. For those that can remember. Cars were high maintenance back "in the day" meaning before 1970. Everything needed servicing often.

These days any tire can blow out, even ones from Walmart that are a year and half old.

Had this one blow out at 80 mph on my daily driven 68 dart. Luckily no damage to the car or steel wheel. Just surprised the heck out of me because I didn't expect this to happen on a newer tire.

I actually have a fender but shipping will be tough.

Likely not as much total as DVAP.

Remember that only 73 or 74 Charger fenders fit. The 71-2 fenders are different, and 73-4 fenders are hard to find. No one makes an aftermarket 73-74 Charge fender. I have a spare extremely nice set in Phoenix at my son's house, and one at my place in Ohio (forget which side). I pick them up when I can find them, but don't find many without serious rust-out.

Hi. Today I was taking my old 74 out for a cruise on the highway, speed limit for this section had me going about 55-60 mph. Suddenly a series of loud knocks and bangs followed by some sort of smoke pouring up from the floorboard, just in general very scary. I assumed I had just ruined my engine and so I coasted to a stop on the side of the road and shut it off immediately. Got out to check things over, and sure enough the engine seems to be okay... but the drivers side fender and fender strut is absolutely mangled and my tire is stripped clean of its tread. I had planned on getting new wheels and tires soon anyway so that isn’t too big a deal, but on the other hand my fender is so damaged I can’t even hardly believe it. Im guessing the smoke was just dust from the tire shaving its tread off?
So... I would like to find a good shop or place around the Western Kentucky area that either knows their classic car bodywork or mopars in general who might be able to set me up with getting my fender all repaired up. I’ll include some pictures I took of it too, it’s nasty :(

I have a front valance off a '73 SE that I don't need near Frederick MD but am honestly not interested in shipping it. If you know anyone passing through the area you can have it for $50.
