Welcome to FBBO from Zoo York. In the belly of the beast baby.Hello all.
There is no doubt that I have FAR more to gain than give at this site.
To say I am impressed by the work I've seen posted here would be an understatement. The extent of the projects some of you guys undertake along with your collective willingness to share is remarkable. Just about all of the of the projects pique my interest but the ones that get disassembled completely really blow me away.
Not a chance in hell that's ever going to happen to my charger. What is it that wise old sage from the city by the bay once said? "A man's got to know his limitations."
I haven't stripped any paint off yet but based upon what is clearly evident I purchased some of the sheet metal that will be needed to fix her up before paint. At this point just the left and right quarter skins that were being discontinued by AMD. Will probably need outer wheel houses if for nothing else to cut a section and match up with the new skins. Inner wheel wells will be patched where there are some pin holes. Trunk extensions & rear corners will more than likely be required as well. Trunk center looks ok, definitely some rust but doesn't look bad enough to warrant more than patches. Not sure if I'll attempt the work or farm it out. Maybe I'll have to give it a shot, my shop has migs, tigs and guys that can use them.
Anyway, she's never going to be a show car but she runs strong and really knows how to put a smile on my face. I'll show her some love, get her back to her original F5 and take it from there.
Thank you all for the posts that I have already seen and in advance for the posts I know I will need to see!View attachment 964028
Thank you! Started my day today on a job right next door to the Barclay Arena.Welcome to FBBO from Zoo York. In the belly of the beast baby.
g'day mate! My first international reply. I'll have to check it out because now I'm curious but I believe we are probably as far apart on this planet as two people could possibly be.g'day from Australia
I'm a little envious of those with TWO classics in the garage!Welcome from the Pacific Northwest
Thank you! Wasn't in the market when it came along a few years ago but at that time I was reminiscing about my first car ('73 charger 318) that was taken from me by a drunk driver. I was 18 at the time. This "greenie" looked too good and sounded even better, couldn't pass it up.Welcome aboard. Great looking Charger, I love it.
Thanks Rebel. I'm going to have to snap a few pics with the phone and post from there. Tons of pics on the laptop (how I joined and started this thread) but all of a sudden it started to freeze up every 5 seconds from all the ads! . Something about long running scripts? Wanted to throw it against the wall. The cell works great and fast.Welcome aboard! Beautiful car let's see some more pic's as well as the history of your car.

Is the welcome wagon the place to continue this discussion or would a different area be more appropriate?
Will do, stay tuned, thanks again!I say post more pic's here & then create a build thread when you start work or start posting in the 68-70 Charger Forum.
Homeslice!? I haven't heard that one in years! One of my buds growing up said it all the time.Nice ride there homeslice! Where in the state are you?
While you may feel that your not up to par or have little to offer back to the site, what ever you know for a fact is a great size heavy nugget of good to someone looking for just that bit of information.
So help when you can and never worry about it.
That's pretty funny. I was thinking the same thing, but being that I'm such a nube I didn't want an ill worded joke to be misinterpreted and have someone label me a wise *** so soon.Welcome from the 'Atlantic North East'...lol....( Vermont)...
