Is anybody running an electric water pump on their BB?

When i put a motor plate in mine, i made some studs to replace the water pump housing bolts. That way even with the pump housing off, the motor and plate stay together. I made my studs because i had access to a lathe and the raw stock neccessary, but i'm sure a little research at arp can find what you would want.
My water pump/housing is studded also. It does make everything much easier. In fact my entire engine is ARP Studded.

I also use EVANS water-less coolant.
Do you drive on the street. I wanted to try it but it seems like a lot of work setting it up. Not only that expensive especially if you have a loss from a failure

I would unbolt the motor plate from the frame and jack up the engine just until you see the plate take some pressure of the frame rails, this way the engine wont want to slide down the plate. hopefully the RTV will hold the plate on the block for a bit with minimum weight on it.
my thoughts exactly,,ordered yesterday from summit, wp306r, the red 1! will have to stagger the fans 1 up 1 down to clear the pump motor, no shroud, my experiance with the flat metal 1's was they dont work well at all, they become an air trap, i increased the air flow of my fans and cured the problem.

Yes, I drove it 2000 mile last year. I haven't had any failures yet. It also stops corrosion inside the block and radiator, lubricates the water pump a bit also. It's basically thermal heat transfer fluid (OIL) and it never expands so reduced pressure on the system = less failures. I don't even need a catch can, but have one installed to keep track officials happy. There's never anything in it though. Maybe it's not for everyone but I will do it again on my next project. Very hard to use if the system already had water in it but mine was a fresh motor.
