Hi all,
I am replacing a timing chain with a double roller chain. It is a one bolt to the cam. Big block. When I started researching products I saw a vast difference in prices but many of them didn't have any reviews so I figured I would put it out there. Any recommendations on a timing chain?

And by the way...yes I am keeping the flag

, keep the flag. Only the radicals want it gone, because of the unity for which it stands.

Timing chain? Buy from a reputable supplier.

I am looking at a Mopar Performance part #P5249268
Still trying to find reviews and compare to others available.

Yes keep the flag. I am looking into that same thing on a 383. Think summit is a good place to ask these question's. Other than that what guy's are using on their race car's.

Cloyes best set (true race billet?) USA-made gears and the premium 'JWIS' German chain. Most of the lower-priced sets use chains made in taiwan or India and the gears may or may not be high quality. Rollmaster is also a nice set that has the good chain.

Check out Cloyes and or Hughes Engines

Absolutely Rollmaster for me. Just make sure what you buy uses a IWIS chain.

No china junk allowed! It’s hard to believe how China has overtaken so much manufacturing! I’ll get of my soap box before I start rattling..

I like the JP Performance 9 way double roller sets but using a single bolt cam will most likely limit your choices.

I also vote for Cloyes....but Cloyes uses SPROCKETS (not gears), that have hardened teeth and the German chain is excellent as well. B4 installation, remember to soak the timing chain in engine oil for several hours or overnite, in whatever brand and viscosity of oil, you intend to use. This insures all the chain's pins and bushings are lubricated on start up. Just my opinion of course.

And most importantly measure the distance between the cam and Crank centerline to see
if you need a -0.005 or -0.010 undersize chain!!! I believe the stock dimension is supposed to be 5.152.
