Who here has concrete evidence of which headlight bulb was used in 64 Plymouth's, Tung-Sol or GE?

Somewhere I have an original bulb from my 64 Dodge GE 64 date code bulb. Hamtramck built.

Ok, things are warming up!

If my memory serves me correct GE was standard issue till around 70, then Westinghouse was used on some models followed by some tung sol. I’m not saying I’m 100% sure of the date for tung sol. I read in my b body reference book. Some models from different plants did end up with different flavors but I really feel GE would be a rock solid/ safe bet.

GE would be more than likely,as tung- sol was backup stock in case the GE were used up n waiting for stock on the production line

Both of my early B-bodies still have the original GE bulbs!

All 4 of mine are GE has well. Whether they are the originals I don't know. Looks like 1/8" fluting on low beams & 1/4" on high beams.

My driver's side low beam is brighter than passenger..I guess its about to burn out.

The narrow flutes didn't come along til around 1974, when improved versions of the type 4000 (37.5/60w high/low) sealed beam replaced the first-generation 4000, which in turn replaced the previous 4002 (37.5/50w high/low) unit, so your narrow-flute lamps are later replacements.

Chrysler's headlamp purchasing in that timeframe was 50% GE, 25% Westinghouse, 25% Tung-Sol. There's some fairly accurate info here, and reasonably accurate, overwhelmingly detailed info here (PDF).
