I might be pissing people off with this but here goes anyway. This Magnum is a disgrace, now. The used car jockey is (unfortunately) typical idiot or lying bastard. A quick custom paint job and he claims it as factory. On a hoist but too dam lazy to check block numbers but yet still claiming original. Filthy as f*** underneath, I have parts cars that are cleaner that that under carriage. No actual proof of it's GTness. If the top and bottom both looked as nice it might bring what he's asking. I don't need another 78 Magnum GT with t-tops but I'd like dream every once in a while, but this just looks like a nightmare.

OK, I'm done ranting now. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest!

it's through a dealer. that's what they do. buy slapped together junkers with a fresh coat of paint on them then throw a retarded price tag on it.

IDK a 400 T top GT is kinda cool.

14K is a bit much though.

Yeah, the "Juarez Special" treatment might be a bit much for some folks, but this is
just another example of a dealer trying to make something more out of what could
have been a nice original type car - for half the price.
Oh well. It happens.
As a car dealer friend of mine says - "There's an *** for every seat".

I have almost the same car, but mine is triple black 400 t-bar bought as a project for less than 20% of the that price. I would never pay that amount. Keep looking.

I like those magnums. The car looks okay to me. Nice and dry underneath, maybe an oil leak or two but seems original and solid. I don’t know what the market is like on these but many weren’t made and they will be quite collectable one day

I remember seeing them brand new at the Dodge dealer in south florida. I wasn't impressed at the time. I had my 70 r/t se charger then . And didn't need anything else. Besides I couldn't afford it and I only paid $800 for my charger. But the magnums grew on me. And had been looking for a project for 10.years. and I found a project 78 magnum xe triple black t-bar roof, power brakes, steering, windows, cruise. 400cu. Leather seats. A few of things wrong with it though. Bad Trans and no fender tag or build sheet. But I'm happy that I found one cheap. And now it has a od 4 speed installed. And I'm still working on it. It will be fun to drive when I finish it.

It's eBay buy it and complain about everything you find to be a lie make the guy refund you a few $$$$
That's how everything works now !

eah, the "Juarez Special" treatment might be a bit much for some folks,

Funny and interesting comment

As an aside... Most folks don't know about Juarez, Mexico.

Unfortunately, jyears ago drug cartel violence decimated Juarez and all tourist trade..... sad

Was a nice place to go shopping, 15-20 years ago, and sadly the cartels have taken over.

By law, wocals are unarmed, consequently they are victimized daily by extortion and the drug trade.

Years ago, one could get their car fixed, upholstered and painted cheap because labor and Dupont auto paint wqs cheaper across the border also no over reaching EPA.

Having your car painted/upholstered in Juarez you got what you paid for - which was understood. Much better than Earl Scheibs!

A while back, I saw an article about a gentleman, I believe in Juarez or northern Mexico who is now doing concourse restorations and has lots of US customer waiting in line.

An Electrical Engineer friend of mine has a small side business, in El Paso, TX where he buys, on auction, salvage title vehicles (needing front/rear bumper mask replacement), he provides replacement panels and has vehicles fixed in Juarez. He sells the vehicle w/ salvage title at a reasonable cost and all are happy.

No EPA, reasonable labor costs, and less expensive Dupont brand paint (yes, same paint as in US is cheaper in Juarez, just like same name brand RX drugs cheaper across the border). I've purchased 4 vehicles (Accords, Civics, Camrys, Corollas) and have been pleased.

Yes, Is supect this vehicle is probably a Juarez special, so let the "buyer beware"!!!!!!!!

Well interesting detour.... Any Chance you know about Bill DeCarr ? Originally named Guille' Ortega, for many years he worked for George Barris but got tired of getting little credit or compensation for the amazing cars he was responsible for customizing... At some point be changed his name to Bill DeCarr cause he literally was the guy who would build the car.... In the late 50's he opened his own custom shop on Artesia Blvd in North Long Beach... Later he moved to Rosecrans Ave in Bellflower.

Different strokes type deal, didn't like them when they were new but fortunately for the rest of the world, they don't have to like or dislike what I do.

Unfortunately don't know Bill DeCarr.
Will try to find name of more recent go-to concourse restorer referred to above

Other than the tail strip, I don't have a problem with the paint.

It's an "N" code 400-4.
