If any of you have stumbled onto my Vintage Garage Stuff thread in the Shop, Garage and Tools forum, you know that I have a fairly large collection of automobile related cans and bottles. I grabbed this little bottle at an estate sale, even though I don't think it is car related. The label reads "Coike's Kashub Snuff". The two types of snuff I am familiar with are a powder you snort and tobacco you put in your mouth. This bottle contains liquid. When I looked up Kashub I found Kashubian, which is a northern Polish language dialect. I like the fact that it was made in Detroit. For context of size, the net weight was 3/4 oz. The label has a warning that under penalty of law, not to use this package for snuff again. I would say that usually when you see such a warning that the contents are meant to be ingested in some way. If the bottle was refilled with the liquid that is now in it, it doesn't strike me as the type of container that would have been used for the snorting kind of snuff. It most certainly wouldn't have been used for the tobacco type. Can anyone help with any info about what this stuff is?

While you've got liquid in there, I think it was powder when originally sold. Maybe someone used the bottle for sewing machine oil. :)

You'll find a lot of history on that company.

Does it smell like whiskey? I have found quite a few random old bottles filled with booz. Depression era folks saved and reused everything. Here is an old F Peters Sherry bottle brought up from a shipwreck. I would definitely give you insurance agent a call and up your policy before you take a sip!

Yes, it's an old snuff bottle, the real mystery is the li
Maybe it's Hash oil!
If that's the case, I think you and I should personally go and check it out. I'll be by tomorrow to pick you up!! Mind you, this is for his safety only.

Maybe it's a Jeannie! Rub it and if Barbera Eden pops out please send her to my house.
