Could only find one pic using search- thanks @idrivemopar

But t looks like the place to mount the hangers isn't being used in that pic.

Looks like the frame rail has places to insert 2 clip nuts.

Is that not where the hanger goes?

Anyone have a pic of the hanger?

I have a pair of tips I've been sitting on for years and I'm finally ready to put them on.

Thanks.

Yep, same as my charger. Sorry just cant get picks right now which is why I posted the accurate exhaust stuff.

I don't remember using anykind of clip nut to install the hangers on my frame rails, but just the seltapping screws straight to frame rail provission ?

I got hangers from here:

https://www.hooverautoparts.com/products/Exhaust/MS 193.php

but honestly I can't recall right now the details. It was 8 years ago when I installed them and my car is 6.5K miles from where I am right now

The way my duals were run, I don't think I'm going to be able to use those factory hangers.

My tips are a fairly early run repro, maybe Pypes brand. I've had them for almost 10 years.

It looks like I could use those holes for clip nut on the bottoms of the frame rails, and have the distance from the rail and the position of the tips pretty close.

I may have to fabricate something.

I'm also considering making or modifying a trailer hitch to fit, but with reese style receiver.
That's gonna be fun.

about the frame rail provisions for clip nuts underneath the frame rail. Those are for the Bumper guard bottom brackets

I think You car is 74... right ?

( Charger on pic, but I guess similar to Plymouths )

73, but nothing's ever been in those holes (that I can see, it's a factory undercoated car) and no lower brackets on the bumper guards.

Here is a picture of the inside frame rail on the passenger side. Show the stock location for the tip hanger, and the other is the hanger for tti exhaust.

Just to add FWIW, I've replaced the passenger rail on my 71 Satty that originally had a single exhaust with a rail from a 73' RR that had factory dual ex. I left the u-bolt in the frame where the hanger mounts(got the hangers with the rails). Here's a few crappy pics but it isn't a self tapped location. I believe the location further towards the front about 10 inches or so is from differences between the charger/RR tips, or the resonator option. Not sure I could be wrong, dont matter to me...
The drivers side rail on my 71' is original and is identical as far as the "knockouts" in the rails for the tips/exhaust hangers...

Well looky what I found in my exhaust parts stash-

Here they are mocked up.

I think they will work in the intended location after all.

One more question-

How do the tips attach to the exhaust?

Mine are thick metal and highly polished.

I can't see a standard clamp working, and if it could it would likely crack the chrome.

My tips have a 2.5 ID but my exhaust is 2.0 OD, so I need to reduce.

I'm thinking maybe 2 stainless screws at the 4 and 8 o'clock positions.

Exhaust pipe should be flared on the end with a slit on two side about 1.25 inches and the exhaust tip goes inside the pipe with clamp over the pipe area with the slit.

By the way stock size tips were for 2.25 diameter exhaust. My tti is 2.5 so I had to drop the diameter down on the end pipe to fit to my smaller diameter tips.

My current exhaust is all welded. Looks like I'll have to improvise something.

...and of course since I've only had one tip put of the box, the other one has a chip out of the red paint right on top.

grrr
