oil pan clearance, anyone have info on drop down components that will clear the oil pan on a 413 in a Belvedere ?? Mine doesn't touch but it is very close. Can a guy modify or use idler, Pittman from other models to achieve more clearance ??

Not that I know of. I pondered the idea of using different steering components but you would almost need to have access to a junkyard and swap parts to see what would work if any. I never found anyone who was using a different setup from another car to solve this problem.

The pan I originally had on the 440 was also very close and after two years the mounts settled a bit and it was becoming way too close. The 971 pan is a great choice if you can find one. Some on here have used the racing pans like Moroso that will work. There's several threads on here about these early cars and what pans will work.

The 187 and 699 pans are very similar and have a shorter rear section with a relief made into the pan. I would assume its for the idler arm clearance.

Oil pan clearance. I had some issues. I have a Moroso deep pan on mine. The k-member was too close for my comfort so l cut a notch in it and welded it up. Been a long time now for my memory as far as the Pitman arm clearance goes, but l did put a fast ratio pitman arm in when l rebuilt my front end. I'm quite surprised how nice it steers with manual steering. I was expecting the worst with that big engine

Did the fast ratio drop the drag link at all ??
