Just to the right, out of the picture, is the family barbecue, with the kids swimming while they wait for burgers.
I actually have video of my very young daughter, naked as a jay bird, washing my car in an opening on Great Slave Lake while fishermen snowmobiled by in the background on the ice floe. She would wash the car a bit, get out to warm up, then run back in again.
I would post it, but my kid is naked.

Nice car I live 25 minutes from Tiny .
And we drove past both your places today.. well Tom's for sure and close to you. 80 or so miles on the Bird today. Penetang to Elmvale across Moonstone Rd to Coldwater, through the Harbour, Midland, Penetang then home. It may get warm... lol.. but I didn't have to run the heater fan!

I’m so proud of my little town in the far north.
I’ve posted before how on New Years Eve virtually the entire town gets together for a midnight bonfire and fireworks show, even at minus forty without the pussy windchill.
I just got back from the parade.
Today, for the first time in recent memory it rained on Canada Day. It’s a cool 13C, pouring rain. The parade proceeded on time at 01:00PM. Probably forty to fifty floats and cars, and nearly the entire town lining the parade route. Everyone out in the rain getting soaked, cheering and waving, just being happy.
Happy Canada Day!

To me Canada holds a special place in my heart. I was about a year old when we left Germany and Canada took us in when the USA wouldn't. We spent almost 7years living in Regina Saskatchewan before finishing our journey to America. To all of you, a truly heart felt thank you and have a wonderful day!! Great people and a great country!! God bless you all !!!! Ulli
Funny, when my dad came over from Germany in the early 1950's, he ended up in Regina too, where he met my mom.

that is where most started from. There or North Dakota. Both my grandparents were the same. Except they came from a area between Germany and Russia. One lived in North Dakota the other in Regina. How they met I have no clue. They had some pretty horrific stories about where they fled from. Pretty sad to listen too. Im glad they found peace in Canada and made a life times effort in making there future here.

After WW11 some of my Father-in-laws cousins came to Edmonton. They were not welcome by some . Eventually the got jobs with Henry Ford, then moved on elsewhere.
My wife’s father came to Saskatchewan with his mother about 1925. Her Grandfather came from South Dakota about 1908.
We have been to Germany twice, loved the Country and people.
TRIVA when the USA got independence (not sure about the timing) there was a vote on what should the official language be? Check it out if you are interested.

What a great day and great stories. Just was hanging out sorting out my steering column out and a friend from Creemore stopped by for a visit with his wife and Superbee. Wayne and guys close now that things are getting a bit better we will need to get together and cruise or bench race. Can't get to Carlisle and other things this year.

I was pretty sure, as it's the only place I can't see in the garages driving by! Should have just pulled in one of the last 5 times we've gone across there, yesterday was about 11 AM !
