More come to mind:
German potato salad - yes you use the bacon grease!
Dutchie chocolate cake(2 cups of coffee in recipe) with peanut butter frosting.
Genuine Dutch apple pie
ALL of these recipes, (plus lots more) were passed on to my wife from my mother & great grandmother. The originals are written in German, all scribbled over in translation
Those girls knew how to cook/bake!
I could go on and on, Great Grandpa & Grandpa ran a slaughterhouse......

Not sure where in Pa. you live, but the I-83 diner in York has a few of those great German recipes on the menu. Add to that truck parking and it's a keeper for me.

Not sure where in Pa. you live,
As far north & east in Pa as you can get.

Khryslerkid probably knows that place, he's from York I think.

Eating vanilla ice cream and vanilla wafers, sitting on the screened-in porch, while listening to the jar flies (cicadas) on a hot, humid subtropical afternoon. Porch gliders!

Close! No, in the small town north of Erie, and right on the NY line, named North East. Which is also bounded by the lake on the West side. Grapes everywhere...
I know that area pretty well, I haul into Erie quite often. There's a TA truck stop just outside of North East that I stay at when I am up there. Pretty country, but those lake effect snows are rough.

My first real job was pumping fuel at the Union 76 right there next to the line. Yes, the LES is brutal.

Potato salad home made
or a good coleslaw

or nice cold 3 bean salad

or a nice macaroni or pasta salads

or green bean casserole with mushroom sauce
& topped with French's fried/shredded onions all over it

all as side dishes

What a way to go!
