My partners 70 Charger was built on what I believe to be the last day of production for the 70 Charger, Friday 10th July 1970. I'm just wondering if her car was the last one built or was there other chargers built after hers? Her Vin no is XP29NOG 258398 Is there any chargers out there with a later Vin than 258398 ??

There is a member who might be able to answer that question. 6bblgt,Dan has quite a bit of knowledge about what cars were built when, and at what plant. Also Barry Washington at the Hamtramak registry may also be able to answer the question. You can also ask Don over at the 70 Charger registry too,he keeps track of VIN numbers and build sheets of the cars in the registry.

I couldn't get a good view of the fender tag, on the pink car,to see if it was before or after my V code Charger.

You still have your XS29V0G258XXX?

Yes,Corona virus outbreak cancelled the sale, when they shut the buyers business down. Looks like I am going to put it together and drive it!

There is no definitive answer to these “last one built” questions

Without a written record, it’s nothing but a guess from “known” cars. And there are plenty of cars that did not survive to today. We have no (or little) records of those.

Like has been explained before, the SPD date is not the build date. And VIN are not 100% in built order sequence.

And near the beginning and end of the production year, the SPD to actual build date fluctuates greater.
