Hello everyone. I'm a DIY amateur that cut my teeth on a 1970 Chevy C-10, but always wanted a mopar. Used to '1/4 mile race' cars in high school (95). From a small town in Nebraska and grew up around Chevelles and Oldsmobiles, but there were only a few mopars. One friend with a 68 Coronet and his dad had a 69 Superbee. Always wanted one and finally picked one up a few weeks ago. My new project is a 1968 Plymouth Satellite with the original 318. The engine was stroked (told to a 390), aluminum edelbrock heads (ported/polished), aluminum Weiland intake manifold, long tube headers into new H pipe dual exhaust. Has rebuilt 727 tranny for small block. The guy I bought it from built it for power, but I'm looking to make it more of a cruiser as I have 2 young sons (3 and 6). I'm glad to be part of the forum and will need a lot of help as I start replacing the bushings/leaf springs/suspension/steering components. I'm not used to torsion bars or leaf springs, so I'm pretty 'green' right now. I currently live in NW Iowa. Thanks for any future help.

Welcome aboard Sir, from the middle of the mitten.

Welcome, once you start tinkering on your car you'll see the differences between Mopar & GM. You can benefit from the Mopar literature out there, the Mopar Performance Manual/Direct Connection(Mopar Bible) is one good source, along with a Factory Service Manual(FSM). Good luck & enjoy.

Welcome from Alabama, if you can wrench on your car you will learn the Mopars.

Welcome from Waterloo.

Welcome aboard from West Virginia and yeah post some pictures of the old girl!

welcome to FBBO

Drove out to Arcadia, WI (300 miles) to find her. Goal was to drive her home, but after the impeller came loose from the (new NAPA) water pump.....I lost the belts. Put them back on only to have the coil go out 9 miles later. Spent Father's Day getting her towed home from AAA. Oddly enough, the wife and I have good memories of the 'ordeal'. Took a pic before we left.

Welcome to the best Mopar website, from SouthWest Iowa. Very nice looking Satellite. I am very familiar with the 68 Satellites, as I am finishing up my 1968 Sport Satellite. Painted since the avatar picture. Be glad to help out any way I can , as I have done a lot of research I highly recommend you get a factory service manual...............................MO

Thanks...I'm sure I'll be picking your brain. I ordered the factory service manual the same day I bought the car. If you look at my Satellite pics, you can see the chrome trim across the top of the fenders/doors/quarters. Is that the sport satellite trim? I know the car wasn't originally a sport satellite. Also the front fenders/hood/grill are from a 69.
