I built a custom car dolly so I can take the wheels etc. off and just have the shell to work on. I'm just not sure how to get it onto the dolly. i'm thinking it needs to be jacked up and on jack stands, and then roll the dolly underneath after the leaf springs, rear axle, K frame, etc are removed.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Its not complicated. Use stacks of wood blocks, wood beams, jacks, jackstands, and drop/raise it step by step, end to end, etc. progressively. You don't have to lift it all at once. A cherry picker and soft straps work great for picking up one end at a time.

However you do it be aware that the rear of the car gets real heavy when you strip to bare shell and can wheelie back on some stands and dollys. DANGER ALERT!

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind!
