Hi everybody and thanks for letting me in!
I'm a longtime Mopar fan and owner from the UK where the Mopar scene is very much alive and thriving. Cars that I've owned in the past include a '58 Coronet, '60 Fury, '66 Barracuda, two '69 Barracudas, two Darts - '69 and '73, and a '70 Challenger. There's been a couple of W-series trucks as well.
Currently (until the next temptation comes along!) I have a '65 Coronet 440 station wagon which I bought five or six years ago with the intention of using it as a push/tow car for the Donovan 417- powered slingshot that we were building. But life and circumstances change and the dragster was sold - leaving me with a wagon project. It sat for a couple of years until I levered myself off the sofa and ripped into it at my usual lightning speed (snail's pace, that is). The body has its fair share of dents and dings but is rock solid and rust free - having come from the CA desert - so I've ignored it so far. Mechanically, I knew that the 318 was marginal at best but I was surprised that it tendered its resignation so soon after I got it but then was even more surprised that it managed to run at all with one rocker shaft in two pieces and and a camshaft that was virtually bump-less! Moving on, its now got a nice street 440 that's been upgraded with Edelbrock intake and 600 carb, FBO ignition, Doug Thorley headers (wish I'd bought TTi :() etc. etc. The 727 has been freshened and a Hughes converter added. The front suspension was a bit of a mess (miss-matched LCA's, two LH torsion bars fitted (!)) so that's all been replaced with brand new, as have the front and rear brakes - dual circuit added. The rear axle appears to have one bent shaft so I'll get a new pair to go with the 489 and 3.55 gears that I have. Still a load more to to but I'm over the hump!

Sorry to waffle on guys, I'm no expert mechanic by any stretch of the imagination so please expect some really daft questions !
All the best to you,
Nick.

Welcome from Michigan, the Motor City! Nice wagon you have there, looks well built. Cheers! 440'

I'm jealous! I have a 66 Belvedere SW and a 65 Coronet 4 Dr. Sed. and a 65 Belvedere 2 Dr Htp. I love the early B wagons.

BIENVENIDO DESDE MÉXICO:drinks:
There's no such thing as a silly question, if there's something this guys knows about is mopars, welcome to the site.

Hello - ya seem to know more than you're letting on by the mechanical issues you've identified; you sound amply capable. And wow, you've had some great-coveted Mopars I'd sure have liked to have! Yeah - the early B and also late 50's wagons have grown on me a lot. I try not to think about it too much as I had some opportunities to buy two in particular I've kicked myself about on not snagging when I had the chance.

welcome and hello from s carolina:thumbsup:

Welcome sir!!! My lord, it must cost a fortune to fill her up over there???

Welcome from WA state. I have visited your country several times, pretty much has the same weather as we do.

It certainly feels like a nightmare at times! I love the 62-65 B's, my favourites I think.

I'm just a keen amateur, if there's something I'm not sure of I'll ask someone who knows and if its something that I really can't do I'll get professional help. I know my limits!

We try not to think too hard about it...
