Electric Choke for Six Pack

Does anybody know if they make an electric choke kit for a 70 440 six pack setup? I’m not getting enough heat off the aluminum intake to activate the choke.
 
Nope, can't get a manual either. I finally gave up and just deal with the slow warm up without a choke
 
Yep, done it several times, all still working as intended.

Interesting, would have to think about it. The timer parts are cheap, requires an original or repo six-pack choke spring assembly and a later heated Thermoquad type choke spring, and a bit of time. Could be spendy however. Will gauge the interest level.
 
On my origional RS23V0A****** GTX with the factory aluminium manifold, I'm using the origional choke set up without any difficulties. I've also eliminated the heat riser valve assembly in the RH exhaust manifold but still have the counterweight, shaft, spring etc to maintain correct appearance. From a cold start, the choke is fully heated and the carb is off the fast idle cam at the same time the coolant t-stat opens. This process takes about 7-8 minutes but depends a little on the ambient air temperature.
72 Roadrunner GTX has a elegant idea to adapt a thermoquad choke electric choke coil heater and timing relay is a fix for the problem....I wish him well with this endeavor if he decides to market his solution.

Yes, it’s my experience as well that with headers or manifolds without a functional heat riser valve and open crossover ports/stock heads, the stock choke will operate acceptably with what heat that does make it up through to the choke well. Issue is, with blocked cross-overs and/or aftermarket heads without cross-over passages, there will be no heat for “as-designed” choke operation with original choke parts. The merging of later electrical assisted choke springs allows for more normal operation and appearance when no crossover heat is available.

With this set-up, the choke spring is fully relaxed in about 4-6 mins, the timer/resistor releases the relay at about 8 mins to reduce the current flow to around 500-600 ma, from around 1.7 amps the heating element draws when at full voltage.

To be clear, I’m not planning to go into business making these things, I have a few folks interested so far in what I’ve done to solve the problem for my cars/projects. If I can assist a few others here, I will as time permits. The biggest expense will be the two choke spring assemblies needed.
 
Put me on "the list" as wanting one, or wanting help. I'll review what you posted.
I need to see if that choke setup can be transferred over to the ModMan intake, unless you already know the answer.
Aluminum 6bbl intake, headers, heat xover blocked, aftermarket heads coming.
One of the few remaining problems I have had to stay on top of is the choke blade not fully opening. I seem to have fixed that, but being certain that the choke fully opens the choke plate is a big plus.

Since January when I posted, I've got a Weiand P3690982 6bbl intake, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have ANY choke provision, but I still need a choke, at least a month or 3 out of the year.
