You Are Cordially Invited

OK you got me thinking.
I've decided that my son and I are going to bring a "taste of Rochester NY" with us.
I'll take a bunch of Zweigles pop open white hots, some local rolls and a couple styles of Genesse Beer.
Free while they last.

See you then... (please drink responsibly)

Have you tried this one from Genesee?
I pick up a 12 pack at Walmart last month to give it a try and found out that
it was really good hot weather beer. I went back the next day and bought a case.
I still have a few left in the fridge that I will have to bring with me...

I had a GREAT time, but this being my first year, I couldn't find the FBBO tent, on Sat.
I planed on leaving at 4:45 am, and I forgot that my wife takes, 17 years to get ready, so we didnt get there till 9:30.
I had such a good time!!
I made out like a bandit, but I noticed at about 3-3:30 a lot of swap meet guys were packing up or were packed up, so I didn't get to scour the swap meet for those SMOKING DEALS on the more expensive parts I needed.

We started with looking at the sweet show cars, and as we came out of the superbird building I noticed a bunch of guys packing up, so we quickly switched gears, and went into parts mode.

Next year we getting a hotel, and doing 2 days.

Is there camping on Carlisle grounds? (For next year,)
Pics to come when my wife up loads to computer.

So how did it go? Pics?
It was a small gathering on Friday night for dinner but we had a good time. I was "pitmaster" so I was grilling and running around and I neglected to take any pictures - I think my buddy might have a couple. Thanks to all who provided some food or beverages at some point during the show.

I have come to realize that there is way more to do at Carlisle than there is time for. I had a car in the show, a vendor spot to sell some leftover parts (and camp there too), FBBO events, perform a celebrity judge function (also vote for cars based on the usual voting), plus walk around and look for parts, tools, etc. Like last year, I was spread too thin. I may forgo bringing my car net year and perhaps try to provide lunch grilling services on Friday and Saturday at the FBBO tent. It was too hard for me to be at many places at once.

Looks like my car will be in Mopar Action, although I do not know if I will get a small inset picture of something bigger - time will tell.

Also, special thanks to Richard (69Bfan) from www.restorationpartsandmaterials.com. He is a FBBO sponsor and paid for tables and chairs to be at the FBBO tent. Besides being a FBBO sponsor, he is simply a super nice guy and true Mopar enthusiast.

Cheers,

Hawk

P.S. Don's "White Hots" were a hit with everyone!!! - thanks!

Hawk is an awesome pitmaster.
Unfortunately if I have beer and food in front of me I forget pretty much anything else.:drinks:
So I didn't take one picture either.
The picnic was highly enjoyable.
We left to go watch the autcross super street shootout and kind of missed the tail end.

I got to the tent at about 12:05 on Saturday for the lunch gathering, but unfortunately nobody was there when I got there?! I however signed in and wrote a little note saying I was there and sorry I missed everyone, then later on in the day I met @moparwacko. He seemed like a great guy although I did not talk with him too long. I also had the great honor and privilege to meet Steve or @turbine68rt as he picked up parts from me on Thursday evening at my hotel. Thank you very much Steve for buying those from me, it great meeting you bullshittin' about cars and especially seeing your Charger. I am glad that I can now call you a friend. See everyone next year!

A few photos we took, The T/A and ARR and Superbird display.

So Hawk.......how did the car run?

The car ran super on the drive to and from Carlisle. Engine, tranny and everything else seem to be working really well. And guess what? Rear main seal looks dry!!! :)

The new cam took some of the potency out of the car, so it is not as "ferocious" as it was. It still has plenty of power and lots of torque, but great vacuum at idle to run my A/C and power brakes, etc. On the highway it simply cruised like it was meant to be there. So overall, everything worked well!

Now onward to other projects on the car - they are NEVER done!

Just got back home from the show, we decided to spend a few days in Gettysburg after the show. This was our first time at the show and look forward to going again after all this virus business done.

It was great meeting some of the other FFBO members and enjoying the hospitality of Hawk, (Pitmaster) and Barry. I also failed to snap any pics of the Friday evening BBQ but did manage to capture a Saturday evening parting pic with Hawk and our cars. Thanks again to Hawk for the thoughtfulness and awesome hospitality!

Thanks - it was great meeting you, you wife and seeing your awesome car!

I have decided to not to bring my car to Carlisle next year. I get spread too thin trying to prep/show the car, sell extra parts, look for parts, be at the FBBO tent, enjoy the cars, etc. If I get rid of the car it will give me plenty of time back to man the FBBO tent. It seems that lunches would be better to grill and host than dinners, so I will try to up my game for next year and host lunches at the tent. I'm learning every year and will continue to try and improve the tent each year.
