I'm restoring my 71 road runner and will need some pointers on assembling the air grabber and hood. I took it apart and know where everything goes. My problem is placing the shark decals on the side of the door. The door has hinges and pins that need to be installed before the decal and this makes it hard to reach it when installed in the middle of the hood.

Install the pins at the front first, disconnect the rear 'piano' hinge and the trap door lifts up from the rear.
The decal can now be installed a little easier.
Re-attach the piano hinge when done.

Be careful not to over-tighten screws, as the threads will strip out in the old style plastic/fibreglass trap door.

kiwigtx lifting at the hinge will help thanks. Can these decals go on wet with a soapy solution? I replaced the decals 25 years ago and it was a challenge doing it dry.

I recently fitted some to my 71 charger, used the slide on gel but water with a touch of dish wash liquid will be fine. I wouldn't try it dry.

Correct - a few drops of dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle of water works well for decals. Use a squeegee or something like a Credit card to displace the water and air bubbles. Take your time, and it will look great.
