Torsion bars

I watched the guy that I paid to do the front end and was a little bit skeptical that he tapped them pretty hard to get them in. As it turned out, we put the wrong Lca (a body) and I had to do it again by myself without the lift. The one end had too much paint or powder coat and I lightly sanded down the paint. They went in much easier that time. The tb install/remove tool helped a bunch.

Do you still have the upper control arm bump stop in place?? If so that's your issue, if not then I don't know as they should slip right into place, with at most a wiggle of the LCA.

Legend has it that they never break while driving, only when parked. Sounds like a myth to me. The bars are under more stress when driving down the road from the normal motion.

When my one broke I posted about it. One guy had one break while driving.
Mine broke in the garage thankfully the wheel was not turned - if it was it would do severe damage to the fender.

PO said one on mine broke.....while parked.

I've heard that legend, too.

If you'r ride height is way up or way down, I can see an issue sliding the bar end in.
I think the last time I did T bars, I backed the adjuster way down and then lifted the wheel to line it up.

My car broke a torsion bar and it all got out of alignment due to the rapid drop of the car.
I loosened the nut on the LCA pin and used the old torsion bar to "twist" it until it lined up.
Put the weight back on the suspension and re-tightened the nut.
Do not try hammering in the torsion bar.

Yup, got that Steve
Torsion bar tool
I'm going to remove left front shock absorber, to try to lower LCA a bit more...

Seems like I have to "lower" more
And adjuster is fully backed off

Bump Stop...
The Rubber cushion on top of the LCA?
Yes, it is in but not interfering...

Obviously it is, or the shock isn't extending far enough, you say you need to lower it more and the only thing that could hold it up is the bump stop or you need to pull down on the LCA as the rubber pivot bushing isn't letting it come down all the way.

Dadsbee is right the factory manual tells you take of the bump stop. It is only a 2 minute job.
It may not be the problem - the shock is also a good idea.

Okay,
I see the Logic...
I just removed the bump Stop so now I have a lot more room for "lifting" the LCA, up in a clockwise roatation, I was just about in at it's lowest point, but was trying to go lower...
Let me try...
"working",,,

You shouldn't be lifting it, it should have lowered if you removed the UPPER bump stop!

Dadsbee is ALWAYS correct...
Raising it now...
3 minutes or so....
hang on

Welp,
Cant do it yet...
seems like as I lift the LCA with Bump Stop out and adjuster fully loosened, I still can not get the 6 point sides to line up.
My Bud is on his way over
It's 103 here today
I'm getting a bit weary on this...
beer time...?

NO NO.. no raising it..
I raised it all the way to where it started to lift off jack stands...
I put them both in once before.
Okay, Bud is coming over in 10 minutes
So, RAISE until it is all the way up? or until the HEX's line up...correct?
Im on it.

It is in.
BUT, we had to go lower to get it in.
Yup, We had to apply pressure to the adjuster, it was fully unloaded, but it was still being held up so I put a welding clamp on it and my Bud had BIG channel locks, and he rotated it counter-clockwise, as I tapped it in.
Pics tomorrow.
