The FSM only has an explanation of wing glass and seal replacement and not the frame. Looks like there are three screws hold the wing assembly in. Does the assembly pull straight out or is there a sequence that I need to follow before of after the three screws are removed?

There is also a 3/16"(I think....) allen in the hole behind the little hole with the rubber grommet in the door frame that needs to come out. Then it should pull kinda straight up and out. Be careful not to damage the front plastic slide strip on the window that slides into the vent window track on the front of the door glass. When I did mine, I had the door glass loose as well so it gave me some room to wiggle. I can't wait to assemble it all next year when I half *** forget where it all goes and then try to get it all back in haha!

Thanks RT can you be a little more specific as to where this allen screw is located?

Circled the rubber grommet it is behind in red. Both bolts on the backside of door, that allen inside that hole, and then I believe the bolt through the bottom of the door and it should slide free. I think there's a nut you can remove on the top of the stud down inside the door to free the bottom as well, but when I did mine I loosened the whole stud by mistake.....end result was the same. Also watch, there is a theaded block of metal (crude nut) behind that allen that will fall when it is screwed out and you can grab it inside the door where it falls or wiggle your hand back behind it and hold it.

Thanks RT yup here is the hex bolt with the companion nut. Never would have seen this! Thanks man!

Yup no problem......my buddy told me of that allen bolt a few years back or I would have never known either. Don't lose that rubber plug/grommet as they don't reproduce them to my knowledge.

Ok stepping back for a bit. Can’t seem to free the wing. I don’t want to force it and break anything. Is there a wiggle trick to this? I can’t wait to put this all back together lol I did loosen the wain window.

Looks like the main window needs to come out first. I’ll try that.

Welp door is free of all glass now. Main window had to come out with the wing window due to the keeper tip in the wing window which prevents the main window from coming out. Not sure if dismantling the wing tip here would be wise so I just pulled both windows simultaneously.

I hope they still produce this plastic stud as mine was very brittle.

Great to see you so active on the car! Yup at the same time is the easiest. I am not sure if those are reproduced. Save all the pieces may have to save it!

Wow....great timing. I’m doing this tonight and will take all the help I can get.

i got some new little plugs for the allen screw from some vendor. the other bushing comes in a window kit you can get. the hard part to deal with is the fragile mylar slide track. it is what the window runners (plastic pieces with metal studs that go thru the holes in the window glass) slide in. these mylar slide channels are about $80 and i never found anyone that would sell me one. both the vent window and the door window have to be assembled and installed as one piece as the window has to be lowered all the way down and out of the vent track to remove it.
there is a picture in the Service Manual, but it shows the assembly in an upside down view.
if you already know any of this please excuse me, and it may not be exactly as my car. take a lot of time and patience to remove and install these windows. it is virtually impossible to re-install by yourself without something coming apart. every mistake made me spend more money.
maybe some help
