Hey Guys,

I was thinking of going with this system instead of the QA1 tubular system. I figure I would have to buy new parts for the QA1 system (new torsion bars etc.) and this one would only be about $1600 more. Do you think for the money it would be better handling than the QA1 system? I love that it has the rack and pinion and the coil overs couldn't hurt. It seems like its a well built system and the coil overs do not go in the old shock towers like the magnumforce ones do. Thanks for your opinions!

Coil over not as comfortable riding as torsion bars. If you go with the rack and pinion go with the power steering rack.

Anyone know which one is better to use? Did a search and found some info, AlterKtion gets high ratings on the internet.

I run one. With good double adjustable shocks you can get practically any ride you want. Give Bill at RMS a call. He can get you setup with what you need. I have no regrets personally.

If I’m not mistaken, the RMS product has a reputation for weld failure on the tubular UCA. I would recommend a call to HDK, Hemi Denny knows these cars inside and out, and has an outstanding product.

Really, hmm do you know what forum this was mentioned on? I read a lot of forums and it got high marks. I won't be doing no racing or anything. Just Cruising.

Alterkation is a top notch product, Never heard any negative comments on it.

Bill is great, he built and used this stuff for his own personal road race cars and then finally started making kit to sell. It was beat on and tested before it was offered to the public. The UCA failures were with magnumforce, I’ve never heard of rms stuff failing.

Yeah, I read that Magnum Force had some problems. Not going with them!

A guy I know had the magnum force in his 62 Belvedere, he had more problems with the kit than any thing.

I have never heard of that. I personally know about 10 ppl with the altercation front end. I’ve installed a couple. Not 1 problem at all. I think u r mistaken. Kim

there was an item on the other mopar site that stated someone had a lca crack. think it was in unlawfuls race section.

Hmm maybe they were pounding on it racing. I did a search couldn't find anything, thanks for the info.

I have several friends with Alterkation setups in their cars, and they have had no issues.

Thanks Guys! I think I am going to go with it as soon as my RR gets out of paint jail!

I found this thread https://board.moparts.org/ubbthread...25/all/alterkation-hated-by-mopar-action.html
Some guy did an article on it and said it wasn't good enough for daily driving. He said there are failure points. It COULD fail but no evidence that one DID fail. All the research I have done is ALL the people loved it and had no failures. This puts doubts in my mind but I still may get it. I have to do some research on the QA1 system.

I think there's a reduced turning radius on these coil over systems? Correct me if I'm wrong...

Hmm another thing to consider. I'm actually leaning away from this system, one of the reasons is it has to take rims that are only 3.75 back spacing. That's mean can't use the magnum 500 rims that I love. I can't find any nice rims with that backspacing and you also can only use 15x7 in tires. Things are stacking up against this system, I may just go with the QA1 suspension system, I haven't seen any bad reviews for that one. I wish I could find out how much it improves handling. The only other option is to piece together my own system which I don't have enough experience do. If anyone has any info if the QA1 system improves handling please let me know.
