Saturday this is always a good event. The car has been apart a month for upgrades. New 16 volt system, new rear shocks, rebuilt front shocks and calipers, new front tires, rebuilt carbs.
Zero test time. We'll see how it goes. Shock adjustment is a guess at this point.

Tired of it not cranking well. Especially hot. Know a lot of guys that run 16 volt. They had no issues. Pulled the alternator apart and swapped the regulator. Had to mod the tray a little. Had to turn the fuel pressure down. other than that seems good. We'll see at the track. Went from 2 12 volt batteries to one 16 volt so lost 45lbs.

Dvw, can you tell us what to do to get that 16volts. I'm curious and what's your thoughts about it on the street. How long has this been around a long time or something new to everyone. Thanks and good luck not that you'll need it.
 
16 volt is common with race cars.16volt regulator, 16 volt battery, 16 volt charger. Spins a 15-1 compression starter motor like a slot car. Fuel pump put's out more pressure. Needed to adjust the bypass. The feed to the regulator went from 33psi to 39psi. Everything else stays the same.

Didnt win but it was a good day. The car was fantastic. With the new rear shocks every 60ft was with in .01 except 1 . Only made 2 sets of adjustment as we were in eliminations. I was a little in rd 4. Also got out of the groove, car fell off .02. Lost by .005. That last 2 runs I set the dial .01 quicker than the weather predicted. All the dials show 9.25. But they were not it ran dead on every pass except #6.

Well dvw, you better be careful your getting closer to peeling off the paint. Next time your wallet will be fatter. Thanks for keeping us armchair racers up to date.
