PCV Valve, Do I need to use one?

I use one that fits in a breather and have another breather on the other side. also run the pcv through a catch can then back to the carb. works great!

Nice! You could dress up your battery with one of these: https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/mopar-battery-dress-up-kits.463428/

Just make sure there is no way splashing oil can can into the PVC,it will cause instant detonation. HP engines use breathers or vacuum pumps.

Good point. There should be a baffle under the vent cap and under the pcv valve. Stock valve covers have them welded in. Aftermarket covers you have to screw the baffles on. Cheap covers often don't come with them.

Here are two more reasons to run a PCV;
Your carb is calibrated for it,and
Your cammed up engine is gonna want more idle air. The PCV is your first source of bypass air. If you don't run one your slow-speed system will end up very rich, and you will have driveability issues at throttle tip-in and even beyond.

You get lots of stinky crankcase vapors without pcv. If you're racing you probably don't care. If you're driving around in traffic you probably want pcv.

I agree with everyone and usually always run a PCV valve on my street cars. My valve covers have good baffles so no oil is pulled into my eng by the PCV valve. The hose on the drivers side breather is open as it just goes to the back of the eng. Since I race my cars sometimes I did not want to worry about any oil spitting out the breather on to the valve cover at wide open throttle but it has not spit any oil out of the hose when racing.
