Guys, I m on my way out of town to finish up some work for my folks when I get a text, a pix of an old car. I pull over. Then a message , Hey, elderly lady wants to sell a car if your interested. Got her number and called, she was only 5 minutes away and I had time. Went immediately. This is what she had, a 68 GTX, 440 , auto , one owner car. Brother had bought in new in 68, he passed three years ago, been sitting in her yard for eight years. I bought the car, I think, or I thought. She wanted me to wait one day before I took it. Very attached. Would take no money at that time. Said come back tomorrow. Went on with my day.
That afternoon, piddling at the house, wondering if I was going to get the car or she was going to back out, a guy pulls up I had talked with months ago about buying a Camaro i had. No call, he just came over. Bought the Chevy.
I have never bought and sold a car in the same day, much less, buying or selling in a day that I had no prior knowledge or plans to do either. None the less, we made the deal the next day and I am happy to have this one owner 68 with me

NICE SCORE!!!!!!
Thats a nice looking 68, I like the blue, with the red, Let your good luck continue!!!!!!

Great find!.....I'm always amazed that so many of these lovely old motors are still out there to be found....even in a tiny country like mine old Brit iron turns up pretty regularly.

Awesome day, gotta love it when the stars align unexpectedly...

a red, white and blue 68 GTX fell in your lap 52 years later. it doesn't get much more American than that !:usflag:

Thanks Guys, yes, must admit, was just a lucky day for me. Last year I had to moved half way across the state, garage full, cars, a home I had for 35 years...what a job. I had a 68 Coronet body that needed it all, quarters, pans , trunk to firewall, drivetrain...total restoration needed. Was that pretty copper color bronze looking original paint. I sold it to my sheet metal replacer/welder guy, to much for me to tackle without him. Just last week I told the little woman I was regretting selling that car...was really missing it.....and now this one found me....great pick up.

Nice Score. Right color too. Know go buy a Lotto ticket you and I will split if you win. It was my idea.

Wow that's quite a story, who tipped you off in the first place?

You must have hated having to look so hard and drive so far just for a old gtx,man that's so cool!

That's going to be a very pretty (and I'm guessing, rare!) GTX once done.

I have become good friends with the manager at my local O Reillys since buying much for my 73 restomod project. As you all know, we can t just walk in anywhere and get what we need for our 45-50 cars anymore. It helps when you have a car guy willing to help out....
