I just got an interesting letter from Toronto, Ontario. It seems some guy with the same last name as me there died in 2010. His 7.8 million dollar account is unclaimed. The sender is a bank executive in charge of disbursing this estate, and says that I will have no problem getting listed as the next of kin. But I gotta hurry, because the estate will revert to the gov't if unclaimed within 10 years! HMMM..... He wants me to contact him at a GMail address. Oh, by the way, the grammar is bad in the letter, and the bank is not named. What could POSSIBLY go wrong? Just wanted to let people know to watch out, and not fall for, this attempt.
