71 charger 383 ammeter bypass?

not a fuse, just a bridge able to count how many ppl is crossing it LOL. So, you will have ilegal aliens not going through inmigration pass LOL

if you put a straight path between alt and batt two things are happening:

-with a discharged batt, the ammeter won't sense ( or gets a minimal sense ) that status, because is easier to the load going straight to the batt with that jumper. The ammeter is indeed somekind of resistance. Minimal, but still offers somekind of resistance the jumper saves.

-with engine off, the power to the main splice will run throught the jumper and alt wire because same reason as above, is an easier path to the load. Once again, no reading ( or minimal ) on ammeter.

BUT bulkhead weakness is still there to feed the main splice.

EXCELLENT PRESENTATION........but I'm reasonably sure someone will try and introduce the old ammeter vs voltmeter issue and how they can connect their new 2000 amp alternator to be able to perform TIG welding.....and their methodology is the only way to do so......how sad to be so narrow minded.

This again? Ok. Name one modern car that uses an ammeter. Can't? That's because not one vehicle made in the last 30 years or so that had an ammeter. Chevy dumped the ammeter in the 60's. Ford in 70's. Chrysler used them into the 80's. It's old tech.

So, it's not my methodology "only way to do so", but the ENTIRE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY.
