Looking for someone who’s running these mufflers and thoughts about them. They sound really good, just wondering how loud they are for street driving. I just installed a 505 and want a good tough sounding muffler.

I run the 2 chamber 3", dumping in front of the axle. It doesn't bother me (going deaf anyway) but my wagon has no interior behind the buckets. It does get pretty loud when I open the cutouts though!

I'm running headers, 2.5" system with Flow master 40s. It has a great tone, however you ain't going to sneak in late at night unnoticed  It's loud.

Thanks Dajkzo. I’m talking with TTI about headers and their 2.5” system upgraded to fit these shorter than stock mufflers. They get a lot of requests about their exhaust systems from people like me wanting a different muffler than the standard kit offers. Said they do this all the time. Just making sure it’s what I want before spending the $$$$$.

That exhaust is almost identical to mine.
3" from headers to tailpipe tip, but mine exit the rear under the bumper. The Doug's "guillotine style" electronic cutouts are the best design. That X pipe even looks like the prefab one I have, and the Flowmasters too.
Sounds great, open or closed!

I agree, TTI is great to work with. But with so many muffler options just trying to make sure this a good choice. I’m not racing, just a street car.

Flowmaster 40s are loud, and famous for a filling-removing drone. I like flowmaster, i have two sets, but mine are huge, the 50s big block series, and no drone. If you like the flowmaster sound, and loud is not a problem, you should be good, but I would plan on allowing room for a resonator, maybe later.

I built the entire system from scratch. Straight pipe and 180* u-bends.

No drone? I wonder what I did wrong lol. I absolutely love the flowmaster sound but I always had that drone that drove me nuts.

Well, I said I used big ones. The 50 series big block I use has 3 1/2 in and out, with tailpipes to the bumper (no gastank, fuel cell in the trunk). The case is 5x12, 22" long, literally 2 1/2 times the length of a typical 40 series, maybe three times as big internally and an extra chamber.
The exhaust was built for the next motor, which it may or may not ever get, lol.
My mufflers are now $200 each (crazy, imo) but I guarantee they weren't that price when I bought em !!
