1969 GTX Hood Latch Area, Whats Missing over the Grill?

Popped the hood on this 69 GTX with a 22" radiator and something seems to be missing above the grill. The owner states it's been that way since he has owned it. It looks to me like someone put a 68 cross bar on a 69 am I correct?

Thank you for the replies!

I have always been told a 68 will not fit a 69 grill, but in this case it looks close to the 68.

by the last pics you posted it looks like you have a 69’ grill and a 68’ latch support.

I'm thinking the same thing 68 cross bar on a 69... The very end of the cross bar is wide on both sides like a 68.
