hey guys.
1970 Superbee
Just as far as under the hood install is concerned, what would be the modification differences ?
For Hemis Only 572 with efi? I can still use my N96 hood and plumbing
or
Hellcat crate engine

I am going to use a magnum force coil over front end

can I still use the stock hood?

it looks like the price for the engines is about the same

Whatever you decide...don’t use Magnum Force garbage. There are lots of threads on the poor engineering and quality. Customer service is horrible. Good luck.

That stroker Hemi, well, it would WOW me even more than a HellCrate. I saw what I think was the first B-Body HellCrate swap in person, at Mecum Kissimmee, about 3 years ago. 70 Super Bee, Sublime, very very nicely done with 4 wheel discs and big, wide rear tires. I'm not sure I would have changed anything.
BUT
As strange as it may sound, a big cubic inch Gen 2 Hemi would check off more of the boxes that classic muscle cars satisfy, deep down sensations and the memories that are brought back to life from as far back as 1969.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm very appreciative of the Gen 3 swaps, especially the huffed ones, and if I ever do a Superbird clone, it's going to have a Gen 3 Hemi with some kind of forced induction, the best handling in corners and at ludicrous speeds, and brakes to haul it all back down. Anti lock brakes even, IF they were 100% reliable..
But a 70 Super Bee? BIG..HONKIN' Gen 2 HEMI
Oh YEAH!
:bananadance:

thanks for the input.
I am looking into that Alterktion front end. What do yall think is the biggest disc brake setup that will fit with that front end, strange dana 60 rear and 17" Ralley's?

This was for the factory stock or QA1 front suspension! YRMV!!
I got my 4 wheel, :carrot:6 piston:bananadance:
Wilwood disc brakes from Quick Performance. I have yet to see another Wilwood 6 piston disc system on all 4 wheels, although I have seen a couple of Baer 4x 6 piston disc brakes systems on B-bodies. Quick Performance knows how to make that happen. Neccessary? No...
Absolutely cool as heck and a bragging point? Well, YEAH! I have the 4½" backspacing 17 x 8" front aluminum Rallye wheels and 5" backspacing 17 x 9" rear aluminum Rallye wheels.
Anyway, I have 12.88 front brakes:

and 12.19 rear brakes, with the "Quick Performance Special" 6 piston upgrade.
These, but I paid $300 extra for the 6 piston caliper upgrade:

Here's the front 12.88" dimensions for clearance (sorry, best copy I can find)

By the way, LOVE my 17" aluminum Rallye wheels, and I am going to see what backspacing I need to go radically wider when/IF I likely frame rail relocate and "mini tub" with the new AMD wider wheel tubs. Anyway, at that point I want to have the aluminum Rallye wheels widened, but to keep the look I have now.

I have 14” breaks there will fit no problem ,also have a magnum force front end sitting in back shop garbage Ron does not tell u the k member also pushes out wheels slower to outer fender then stock location , also have FHO hemi 572 love it but the price is closer to 34$ about ten more then hellcat crate

still building car

As far as stock hood i just mounted mine and air filter hits I’m thinking because the motor mounts (TIN MAN) are slightly higher then stock mounts also this a 69 charger stock Kmember

@Jesse6869
Is the billet aluminum hydraulic reservoir in this cropped picture of your engine bay for a throwout bearing?

After my Wilwood master cylinder was installed, that really made the standard white plastic T.O. bearing reservoir look like crap, so I spent the hundo on the black satin billet aluminum reservoir.

I looked over the various ones available, and damn they are pricey, but American Powertrain hooked me up, but still...$100 eek!

I would tell u that i had one on order from ray Barton waited 8 months still to keep waiting and the answer was waiting on blocks. Vary disappointing so did more research came across Tim spoke with him directly had a motor in 3 months to this day maybe year later, still answers the phone and answers every question. Vary knowledgeable knows what he’s doing best purchase by far. March performance has pulleys made just for him and his setups.

he answered the phone when I called. He's very enthusiastic

just curious...
the Alterktion over the Gerst front end?

Strictly from having met Carl Gerst in person when he was starting out, and a couple of times since then, when I "was certain" that I was going to install a RMS or Gerst triangulated 4 link rear suspension until I succumbed to relentless harassment, led by @vintage chromoly :D:p:poke: to....
Please leave that poor car be.
So instead I have gone with Calvert split mono leaf springs and sliders, and Smith Racecraft Assassin traction bars, and most of the frame strengthening parts that are available, with fender braces and/or J bars to be added when the 541 stroker goes in....
Anyway, I was considering both.
Gerst has more options, but some require losing the factory fuel tank.
Look at both, talk with both, decide.
