Looking to buy a repo rear window gasket for my 67 Charger. Any suggestions for a source?
Precision seems available from several vendors, but looking for feedback before pulling the trigger.
Thanks in advance

Check with Richard @69bfan....he is a vendor on here and great to deal with!

So I understand 67 Chargers with vinyl tops use a different rear window gasket. Does anybody know if that rare bird option gasket is reproduced or will it work with a vinyl top anyway?
I know my 66 Barracuda with vinyl top required a unique unattainable front windshield gasket but, with no other choice, I had to use the non-vinyl gasket and it works fine with the vinyl.
And does the front windshield 67 Charger with vinyl top require a unique gasket as well?

Thanks for any suggestion, help

A while ago I asked Jim Rodebaugh that question. I would say that Jim is the most knowledgeable fellow there is regarding 66-67 Chargers.
He said the vinyl top cars did not have a different gasket.
Some windshield manufacturers are supplying thinner glass than original. So it could be harder to seal.
AMD did an article about windshields and gaskets. They also have new windshields made to the correct thickness , along with Precision gaskets.
I have a Precision gasket to install. We have had problems with gaskets staying puckered up near the bottom corners of the windshield about 1.5” on from the A pillar. Hope the new gasket will be better.
The PP/white vinyl roof has had it’s windshield replaced years ago. They had a hard time sealing the back window.

Hi...chatted with Precision and Steele and here's what I found out:
Steele via online chat w/"Paul"= Steele has only one rear window gasket available for 67 Charger. Paul didn't have a clue why factory parts book list different part numbers for vinyl vs non-vinyl.
I ask Paul: Do you supply this gasket to Precision for resale on their label? ans= "Not I am aware of..I think theirs come from overseas".
End chat.
Phone conversation with questions for Precision rep:
Vinyl vs non-vinyl issue: No reason why gasket wouldn't work for either application. (I think that was an opinion, not necessarily a fact.)
Where is your gasket made: Wisconsin

Do you buy this Precision WCRDB3586 gasket from Steele and sell under your label?: Yes it is a Steele gasket.

Not sure why a Steele gasket for Precision is made in Wisconsin..Steele gaskets are made in NC.

But I will likely go Precision since they are $30-40 cheaper than a Steele but are made by Steele...go figure.

I have been getting my gasket's through Parts mix. Some issues on some thing's but other than that every thing works good on the runner.

I had both windows done on my Charger at one time, front replaced and rear removed, cleaned channel, fixed clips and replaced with new gasket. My glass guy would only use Precision so that is what I ordered.

From what I was able to learn, the Precision WCR DB 3586 gasket is manufactured by Steele and sold under the Precision label.
I have one coming with a YearOne label made by Steele. Some sources say Steele is the only manufacturer of the 66-67 Charger rear window gasket.
In the end, if it fits, I'll be happy.
