Looks orange in your picture. Here is a picture of a Paint chip page. Maybe its PP1 Top right. But looks more orange on your car.

I did a little investigating, and Dodge PP-1 has a very creative name: Red. The Plymouth version is named Ruby. Yes, your car does look more orange, unless that's just the way the picture posted.

Hmm maybe it is repainted after all, i was certain that it was the original color. Maybe ill have to scan it.

Dodge Trucks in the same year had Omaha Orange. Which looks sort of like your car in that picture.

The Polara 500 in the video has a black engine bay, indicating that at least one repaint is likely. Remember, in 1964 the factory painted the engine bays the same color as the car’s primary color.

So in my opinion, while that Polara 500 might be Omaha Orange now, it didn’t leave the factory that way unless a build sheet or fender tag exists to prove otherwise.

Mine is also painted black in the engine bay, did all 64s have engine bays painted the same color as the body?

yes. all Mopar passenger cars are supposed to be body color except for, some C bodies, and 75 + B and C bodies.

Okay, so mine is probably repainted as well. Pretty funny to find two big block 64 Polaras in Omaha Orange with a black engine bay :D But the color really looks the same, so i ordered some Omaha Orange touch up paint, i guess i will find out if its correct.

You might be able to check the colour by taking the A pillar moulding off. Quite often these weren’t removed on a repaint, unless it was a restoration. Just a thought.

Lol i think the car in the article and the clip actually is My car!! I just watched the clip on YouTube and read in the description that it was sold and shipped to Sweden hahah!

But it has been partially restored here though and looks way better now.

Reading the video comments where the seller explained that the engine ID:d as a 413 rather than a 426 was a bummer though. I was told it was a 426 when i bought it as well.

I am NOT an expert in any way on the paint on the early 60s mopars, but I doubt there was an orange on the color palate until the later 60s, in the high impact color era. I would guess your car is a non-original repaint. Someone on another tread mentioned that he found a good example of the original color behind the master cylinder on the firewall.

I was thinking the same thing Odmark91 when I watched that YouTube video of the Texas car but I didn't say anything since we really didn't see a whole lot of the car that you own. But there sure are alot of similarities...... lol
